This is such a simple recipe for some tasty brownies. I love baking brownies but never seem to be able to get them right, I adapted a few recipes and came up with this one. My presentation skills are shocking, but if they taste good thats all that matters.
1/2 cup of butter
3/4 cup of cocoa, I used a mix of Cadburys and Dr Oetker because that was all I had
1 1/4 cup of sugar
Pinch of salt
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup of plain flour
Method:
Preheat oven to 200 degrees
Line and grease a baking tin
Melt butter in a large saucepan then add the cocoa powder. Stir until smooth
Add the sugar, salt, eggs and vanilla extract
Add flour a bit at a time and fold in
When everything is combined, pour into the prepared tin and bake for around 25 minutes
When you think it is done, put a sharp knife or skewer into the mix, if it comes out clean it is done, if not, put it back into the oven for a big longer
When done, tip out onto a wire rack and leave to cool. When it is cool, cut into squares.
