The CovetMe Issue...

A few months ago CovetMe went mental on Twitter after it launched and the blogging community found out about it, everyone was joining this new and exciting site. CovetMe is a platform where you earn points by sharing on your social media - twitter, facebook, instagram, pinterest and google+. You share fashions items and pictures and when you do this you gain points. These points can then be redeemed for vouchers, a very similar concept to sites like Valued Opinions and Toluna (two sites I have never had a problem with and always receive vouchers when I claim them) but instead of doing surveys, you're just sharing things instead.
When it first launched you could claim vouchers for Asos, Net-a-porter and Zara, because so many people signed up and went crazy on it, they obviously all went pretty quickly. The issue is that people claimed these vouchers then the majority of them didn't receive them. I signed up two months ago and claimed a £100 Asos Voucher, have I got it? No.

On Twitter I see the occasional person saying they've had their voucher, the amount of people who have got theirs to those who haven't is just ridiculous. They should have expected this sort of outcome, a site where you can claim £100 vouchers for just sharing a few pictures, of course people are going to go for it.

What really frustrates me is that I have seen a few people claiming and getting their second and third vouchers before people who have even got their first one! How is that fair? Surely you should be sorting out those who claimed vouchers first then start on those who have claimed more? Clearly people are just getting vouchers randomly, it doesn't seem like it is in any sort of order and if for some reason they now can't give the vouchers out, as unacceptable as it would be to mess people around for this long, as least people would know and stop hoping. A voucher is a voucher, to some people they might just think get over it, you're not getting it, but not everyone can afford new clothes all the time, or new shoes, or a new bag, a voucher worth £100 could get you a decent amount of stuff, you'd be mad not to try and get it.

I don't know what the right way of saying this is because I don't want to sound bitchy but the way they are responding to people isn't helping them either. I have had a few DM's on Twitter 'promising' my voucher will be with me soon, to just be patient a little longer, telling me I have been fastracked and I have also seen them tell people they are in the next bunch of vouchers to go out and surprise they don't get them. I think they don't really have a clue themselves how they are going to get these vouchers to people so they are trying to sweet talk them to get them off their backs. It works for a while but when you're waiting week after week and these things you've promised aren't happening, of course you're not going to be happy. The last DM I had from them actually said my account was now being assessed, whatever that means, I know I did everything I was supposed to do to claim the voucher and I did it in the correct way, I think this is just another way of passing the time while they figure out what to do. They don't give anyone a time scale so nobody know when they're voucher will arrive either, its literally 'soon' but it never is.

I'm not sure of the point of this post, just to hopefully find out other peoples opinions and see if anyone else is having this issue. Surely they have to do something. I don't know what the solution is but they're are a lot of unhappy people wanting what they have been promised. Maybe they should have closed the site for a while so new people can't sign up meaning no more vouchers can be claimed, meaning those who have already claimed on the first day, some in the first few hours, actually get them. Then maybe reassess and bring the site back.

Hopefully it's a lesson not to underestimate the blogging community.

What do you think to all of this? Are you one of the people who claimed a voucher? Have you got it?

Edit - The day after I published this blog post, I received my voucher! It can't have been a coincidence, clearly they saw my blog post and decided to do something about it. Obviously I am happy I have my voucher now but I really wish I'd not had to write a blog post about it in the first place, they haven't dealt with it all in the right way and there are still loads of people without their vouchers.

I claimed £60 in vouchers on that first night and still haven't got them either! It's been the same "you'll get them soon" DMs and "you've been fast tracked" for months and still nothing! It's crazy how anyone can have such shitty customer service! Glad I'm not alone xxxxxx

On the first night I claimed £100 then £50, I received a £10 voucher and was told I wasn't priority as I received my first voucher. I wouldn't mind but I never requested a £10 voucher! I'm in the same position as you with them saying my account is being assessed but I feel they're using this as an excuse to put off my nagging! I have seen so many people receiving 2 or 3 vouchers, and some of them were only claimed a couple of weeks ago!
Really hope they sort it out for all of us, it's such a shame they're taking so long!

It's ridiculous how bad they are, they should have realised this was going to happen! xxx

They completely messed up, I don't know how they are working out who gets vouchers and who doesn't, there's clearly no order xx

The day after I published this blog post I got a DM asking for my email address and then I got my voucher! Theres no way it was coincidence that it was the day after my blog post, still so disappointed in how they've dealt with it all, they should have sorted everyone's vouchers out ages ago xx

I've patiently waited for two months for #covetme vouchers! The customer service is poor and the response time is ridiculous.

It's stupid how long they're taking to get all the vouchers out! They clearly have no idea what they're doing and they're not dealing with it well x
