Work Update...

It's been a while since I first told you all I had a new job so I thought it was time for a little update. There isn't too much to say but i'm still trying to find the the right routine with blogging while now working as it can take up so much time. I work 4 days a week so that does give me a long weekend to get my blogging done but when the weekend is here, it goes so fast and I find I've not written one post and I don't even know how that happens. I occasionally have days where I just write and write and get loads done but other days I just want to lay in bed and do nothing. I'm quite proud of myself as for most weeks since I started ive been able to stay in the routine of three posts a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday but recently I have fallen out of it. I write posts then forget I need to take blog pictures, edit them and schedule tweets too, there is a lot more too it than just writing something and unless you're a blogger yourself you won't know how time consuming it can be. I just don't have the time when I get in from work, I get home and I literally just want to go to bed! Set days don't really seem to be working for me at the moment so for now im thinking I might still try and post 3 times a week but maybe not on the same days every week, so if I want to post on Monday, Wednesday and Friday one week and I can then I will but if I'm struggling for time or find that I write a really good post one day and want to publish it straight away then I can. At the moment I'm thinking that might be easiest, maybe twice throughout the week then one at the weekend? I think I need to go back to how I was at the beginning with it, do it because I enjoy it, not necessarily because of stats and followers but its hard not to think people are going to stop reading if you're not posting regularly or on set days.

Anyway, with this being my first job it has taken a while to get used to the early mornings and been away from the flat and George for so long but i'm sure it's the same for anyone who's started a new job, you have to get into a completely new routine. Generally i'm really enjoying work, if you don't know what I actually do i'm a receptionist/admin assistant and I really like it. It's the perfect amount of hours for me, I get to interact with new people everyday and there's a nice mix between being on reception and being in the offices doing general admin. I like both so I don't mind what i'm doing. I've done full days by myself on reception and it was so scary at first but now I feel so much more confident. I feel like i'm actually a proper receptionist, it sounds silly but I feel like I know what i'm doing now and each week i'm finding that i'm asking for help less and less. The other woman I work with on reception went away for a few weeks so for a while I was on reception by myself, starting up and locking up, dealing with most things by myself, I've done this before but shes normally around somewhere so it was a bit weird but I think I did really well, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, I was nervous for the first day or so but I feel like I got into it after that and it was much better than I thought. I feel really proud for actually getting through it and not making mistakes or doing anything wrong!

I think thats all there is to say really, it's just a great job for me. Exactly what I wanted and I can't see myself working anywhere else at the moment!
