Essie Nail Polishes You Have To Try!

I think nail polish is actually my favourite beauty product. I'm always looking for new ones to try and I have a soap and glory case full of them! Essie has become one of my favourite nail polish brands over the last year or so, the quality is just brilliant and they have so many gorgeous shades to choose from! I wanted to talk about my 4 favourite polishes of theirs as these ones I literally wear all the time, I'm always changing between these ones and very rarely go for anything else now. I would love to know if you've tried any of these ones too and what you think!

Chinchilly

 I think this is just a gorgeous shade. It is a sleek, grey polish that is a great choice if you just want something subtle and not too out there, it's a really sophisticated colour and I think it always looks good on. If you're someone who puts lots of thought into making sure your nails match your outfits (I don't think I ever have) then I think is a perfect one as it goes with just about anything and doesn't really stand out. I like that about it as I have so many other colours which are quite bright and sometimes it's nice to go for something a bit lighter. The consistency of this is quite thin so it does need at least two coats and I tend to put a top coat on top of it aswell just to get it lasting for as long as possible.

 I've lost count of the amount of times I've mentioned this specific nail polish on my blog but I just adore it! It's a bright, glittery red and even though it's probably better for winter/christmas I do love to wear it all year round. When I find a colour I like, it takes a lot for me to take it off and put another one on. I find with this one, two coats is perfect as it's quite a thick consistency and it lasts me for weeks. I had it on for ages around Christmas and it was the perfect shade for that time of year.

Eternal Optimist 

I got this in a bridal set at least a year ago, and I decided the very first time I put it on, this was going to be the nail polish I wear on my wedding day. It's a subtle pink/nude colour and it just looks really natural and elegant. It's similar to chinchilly in that it's not out there at all and is perfect for a job interview/work/uni/wedding. I will definitely be repurchasing this one later on in the year so I have a fresh bottle ready for when we do actually get married. I tend to do two coats with this one and as with most essie polishes, I get about two weeks with minimal chipping.

Status Symbol 

This is probably one of the brightest colours I own and one I go for a lot in Summer. I'm typically one of those people who does try to go for pinks in the summer and then when it comes to autumn, I'm all about the red and black nail polishes. Like eternal optimist, this also came in a set with Tart Deco but this is definitely my favourite of the two. It looks so nice on and I just think it's the perfect one for the warmer months to go with pretty dresses and sandals.

Why I Would Love To Visit New York

New York has been at the top of my travel bucketlist for years and I mentioned in my 5 Places I Want To Visit post that it's somewhere I just have to go one day.

I also mentioned in that post that we were actually quite close to booking it last year, but obviously because I left my job, that plan soon went out the window. I would still love to visit though and I'm remaining hopeful that one day we will get there. I wanted to do a post about the reasons I want to go as there are so many, they are all the basic tourist things but it doesn't matter, that's what I want to do! I would love to know if any of you have been before and what you got up to.

Times Square

 Of course I want to see Times Square. It just looks amazing and so different to anything I've ever seen before. I think the only thing we have in the UK that comes close is Piccadilly in London but even that is nothing like New York. There just looks like there is so much to do, so many shops, so many cool restaurants. It looks incredible for pictures and I imagine around Christmas and New Year it's even better. I would love to be there in winter and see it covered in snow.

Central Park

 It just looks beautiful all year round! I think it would be lovely to walk around it (or as much as possible) in the summer, take some cute pictures and just chill in the one of the best places in the world with ice cream. But I also think it would be incredible to see in Winter. I would love to see the Alice In Wonderland statue and Strawberry Fields which is a memorial to John Lennon.

911 Memorial 

I mentioned in my 5 places I want to visit post, that I would love to dedicate a full day to the 9/11 memorial. I'm pretty sure they do full day tours, or it's at least recommended you spend a decent chunk of time there if you're going to do it. As sad as it would be I feel like I need to see the memorial and spend some time taking it all in, aswell as visiting the museum. It was such a big thing that happened and knowing that there is something there so you can pay your respects, I feel like it should be done.

Rockefeller Centre 

I've wanted to see the Rockefeller Centre at Christmas for years, all because of Elf! The huge Christmas tree looks insane and I imagine it's so exciting to actually see it for real and to be there for such a special time of the year. I would also love to go Ice Skating while we're there too.

Gossip Girl 

 This is one of my favourite ever tv shows and while in New York I would have to go to some of the famous places it was filmed. There is obviously Grand Central Terminal which is a place I'd want to visit anyway, New York Palace Hotel where Serena lived, the MET steps where they'd sit for lunch, and the last place, angel tunnel in Central Park where Chuck and Blair got married.

New York looks like the most beautiful place and I really hope I get to visit one day. There are so many things to see and do there and I know it would just be the best holiday.

February Favourites - Cath Kidston, Ted Baker & Blondies!

I had so many things I wanted to include in this post and I actually think this is one of my favourite ever favourites. I've got something I bought in London which I will love forever, a birthday present, one of my favourite films, the best lush product and two other things which I really wanted to talk about!

Cath Kidston Mug - I bought this mug from the Cath Kidston in St Pancras Station before we went for our train home and I am so in love with it. They had a really lovely range of London themed things and to be honest I wanted it all but I thought this mug would be something I could keep forever. It makes me smile whenever I look at it because it has all my favourite places on it and it reminds me of the best weekend away.

Ted Baker Set - I received this Ted Baker set as a birthday present and I just love it. First of all, how pretty is the packaging? It came in the cutest box too. It smells gorgeous and I have been especially loving the mini body spray. I love little things like that. I genuinely look at sets like this in Boots all the time and never get them for myself so this was such a perfect present. I can't wait to use the mini bubble bath soon.

Snow Fairy - I'm sure I'll have mentioned in past favourites but I'm going to mention it again because this is the only bottle I managed to get in the boxing day sale and I'm almost out of it. Everyone loves Snow Fairy don't they. It just smells gorgeous. I love using this because I will be able to smell it on my skin for hours and it makes the bathroom smell amazing! I always get sad when I run out of this because now I have to wait until like November to get more.

Equals - I'm sure this has also been mentioned in a favourites before but it's a brilliant film and I bought it a few weeks ago for only £2.99 from HMV. It's a science fiction and romance sort of film and it's about two people who fall in love in a place where emotions have been eradicated and what they have to do so they can be together. This is one of those films that at the end makes you feel like you need to take a massive breath as it's so tense. I actually felt like I didn't breathe for the last half an hour or so, I had no idea how it was going to end and I love it when a film gives no indication of what's going to happen. I really recommend watching this if you haven't yet already, it's a brilliant film and so different.

The Girl On The Train - Everyone seemed to love this book but to be honest I didn't enjoy it and really struggled to get through it. That didn't stop me from wanting to see the film though and because I didn't enjoy the book that much, I didn't really have any expectations. Me and George watched it a few weeks ago and I actually really liked it. I couldn't remember that much of the book so I had no idea what the ending would be and I felt tense all the way through. Emily Blunt was brilliant in it. I think the only disappointing thing about it was that they chose to set the film in America even though in the book it was in London, I'm not sure why they needed to change as it didn't affect the plot.

White Chocolate Blondies - I first made these last year and they have become such a favourite of mine to bake. I made them for Georges macmillan coffee morning in September and they were the first thing to sell out! so they must be good. I hadn't made them since so when Georges brothers were round in February I decided to make some on the Friday and they were gone within an hour. We all loved them so much I made more before they went home and now I can't wait to make them again. They were just like little white chocolate cakes. I've got a recipe here if you would like to make them yourself!

Paperchase Stationery Wishlist...

I could buy stationery every week. I never really used to get the fascination but now I do, I see so many pretty notebooks, pens, diaries, stickers, and just all sorts of stuff online and I just want to buy it all! We've finally made some progress with our spare room and it's actually starting to look like a proper office now, or as close as it can get, and so I want to get all the pretty stationery for it. I think I need it.

Raindrops Desk Unit £14 - I see the raindrop design on notebooks and things like that everytime I go in Paperchase but I'm still yet to buy something from it and I don't know why! I think it's such a pretty design and I just love the colour of this. This would be perfect for pens and lots of other little bits.

Raindrops Pen Pot £3.50 - Sticking with the raindrop design, I love this little pen pot. The green colour is gorgeous and would go really well with some other things we've already got in the spare room.

Cake Shop Magnetic List Pad £6 - I love things like this, I think they are so cute to just have in the kitchen. I am someone who loves to make lists so things like this are just perfect, I can make lists for house jobs, blogging jobs and also any food we need. The food one especially is good because I usually get to the shop and completely forget what we actually need!

Doughnut Notebook £2.50 and Stickers £1.50 - Who doesn't love doughnuts? and why wouldn't want a notebook covered in them? I can never have enough notebooks, I seem to misplace them all the time and I always want to make so many different lists so I think I need several of them, each for a different thing! I also love the stickers, even though I don't really have a need for them.

Postcards 70p each - I pick up little postcards like this every so often to add to our photo wall. They're so cheap and Paperchase always have so many different ones to choose from. I've seen the 'You're my favourite' one loads and I still need to get it, and of course there would be a London one. This is another one I've been wanting to buy but kept putting it off because I already have so many London ones up on the wall!
