March Favourites - The Replacement, New Header & Old Films

I feel like March dragged so much! It seems like ages since I last did a favourites even though it really wasn't. Throughout March I rediscovered an old book, finally started to get through my huge collection of wax melts, watched an incredible TV show aswell as a few films and of course there are a few extras.
New Header - The first thing I wanted to include in my favourites is my new header! I've been wanting one for a while but had no idea where to start on making my own or who to go. I ended up talking to Emmy from Emmys Beauty Cave and asking her to design one for me. I looked at some of her other work and came up with my own including my blog title, a watercolour background and a few images of all my favourite things. Within a few days she had made 4 designs for me to choose and I went for the one below - I love it so much! I can't stop looking at it. Everything about it is perfect. For the blog header in 3 sizes, a facebook cover and a twitter cover I paid £19 and it was so worth it. I really recommend checking out Emmys blog and getting in contact with her if you're looking for a new header.
Calm by Michael Acton Smith - I bought this book ages ago, so long ago that I actually can't even remember when but I found it recently and decided to start reading it again this month. My anxiety has been sky high throughout March and some days have been awful but I've found this book really relaxes me and helps me see things in a clearer way. This book is based on the app which I used to have, which allowed you to listen to calming sounds helping you relax and meditate. The book is split into 8 sections - Nature, Work, Creativity, Children, Travel, Relationships, Food and Sleep. Each section has research and information aswell as activities for you to do. I read the Sleep section a few weeks ago and I don't know if it's a coincidence or not but since then I've genuinely had less problems falling asleep at night and my sleep pattern seems to be going back to normal!
Imperial Leather Tahitian Spa Shower Gel - I love Imperial Leather shower gels because I find so many of them remind me of holidays abroad. I'm always smelling them in the shop but I very rarely buy them, not because I don't shower, but because I have a cabinet just full of shower gels that still need using from last year, and from Christmas! As soon as I saw this one though I knew I had to get it. It smells of coconuts and it just instantly took me back to the last time I was abroad. My skin feels so soft after using it and I'll definitely be getting another bottle in the future. I think it was £1 from B&M which I actually think is one of the best shops ever, not even kidding.
Sunlight On Snow Wax Melts - I mentioned these in my spring candle haul and they are the first out of all of them that I've used so far. I picked these up reduced for £2 from Asda, I'm pretty sure they were just part of the Christmas range but you would never know as the scent is perfect for all year round. THEY SMELL AMAZING! There are 8 wax cube melts in each pack, you only need one and the scent lasts for hours. This pack is going to last me ages and as all the wax melts are at most £3 they're not expensive to replace either. Asda have so many other scents to choose from and they've just added loads of new ones so I'm definitely going to get more soon!
Trolls - I've mentioned this film a few times on my blog before but now I have the DVD, I can watch it whenever I want, and it had to go in my favourites! I know it's probably more aimed towards kids but seriously, this has become one of my favourite ever films. It makes me laugh, it makes me cry, it's has a really good story, I just love it. George got me this for valentines and honestly it's all I wanted, I know that might sound a bit sad. As if I couldn't love Trolls anymore, they announced a few weeks ago they're doing a second film which will be released in 2020. It is ages to wait but I AM SO EXCITED! If you haven't seen this film, you need to watch it!
Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging - I feel like this is the film that got me through my teenage years. I loved it so much when I was like 14 and I love it just as much now. I watched it a few weeks ago and I felt so happy. It's like all these feelings came back and it just made me feel all warm and fuzzy. It's the cutest film, it's so funny and I really think it's a film I'll always keep. It's a brilliant one to watch when you just need cheering up.
Fifty Shades Darker Soundtrack - I loved the first Fifty Shades soundtrack so I was really hoping the second one would live up to it - and it did! I love the majority of the songs included in the film and I have been listening to this on repeat on Spotify. I think my favourite is Lies In The Dark by Tove Lo but I love so many of them.

The Replacement - This was on the BBC throughout March, only 3 episodes and I think every single one left me feeling like I couldn't breathe by the end of it. It was about a woman expecting her first child, who goes on Maternity leave and has suspicions about her replacement. She thinks she's trying to steal her job and it also looks like she wants her whole life. Each episode was about Ellen (the main character) trying to get people to see Paula (the replacement) for what she was and how she had to try and convince them what was going on. Each episode was so tense and I honestly had no idea how it would end. I know quite a lot of people were disappointed in the ending and I can sort of see why but overall I think it was such a good series and one I really recommend if you haven't seen it yet.

Hoots Snacks Review*

Last week I was lucky enough to be sent a selection of snacks to try from the lovely people at Hoots Snacks.
Hoots Snacks are basically a healthier alternative to crisps and as I am a crisp fiend, I knew these would be perfect for me. Hoots are a mix of wholegrains and seeds which are baked not fried. They are a great source of fibre, suitable for vegetarians and vegans, and contain no nasty stuff. They have no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives aswell as no MSG and no nuts. Sometimes when you see all of that listed you can wonder what they're actually going to taste like but these honestly taste delicious.

I was sent a selection of flavours to try - Pickled Onion, Salt & Pepper, Cheese & Onion, Smoked Bacon and Salt & Vinegar.
As I've already said on my social media, these are basically a combination of my two favourite things - crisps and bread! Both I can eat copious amounts of so these are perfect for me.

What I Thought Of Each Flavour:

Pickled Onion - I very rarely have this flavour of crisps but it's really one of my favourites. These were just delicious, I couldn't believe how good they tasted. The flavour was subtle and not overpowering but a little tangy, so good! I think this would be the first flavour out of all of them that I'd pick up in a shop.

Smoked Bacon - Anything bacon related makes me happy and I knew I would like these. I don't really think you can go wrong with bacon flavoured food so I really enjoyed them. They reminded me of Frazzles and I can go through bags and bags of them, these were definitely a favourite.

Cheese & Onion - These were amazing! I love Cheese and Onion crisps and very rarely have them so these were a real treat. So cheesy and crunchy, I think these ones in particular would be so nice with some philadelphia on top.

Salt & Vinegar - These were one of the last I tried because Salt & Vinegar is one of my favourite flavours and I really wanted to keep these until last and properly savour them! I really liked these as they were quite strong. It's such a classic favour and one I would definitely have again in future.

Salt & Pepper - These were the last I tried and I really enjoyed them. With salt and pepper it can be quite hot but I really enjoy that about the flavour and I think these in particular would be lovely on top of tomato soup to give it a bit of a twist.

Overall, I enjoyed every single flavour and wouldn't hesitate to buy them in the future. They are all delicious just as they are, they are around 160 calories per bag and are perfect as a snack. However they can be enjoyed with a variety of other things. As I've already said I think these would be perfect on top of soup, or they would also be good topped with things like houmous, philadelphia, cucumber and cherry tomatoes.

I couldn't get enough of these and all of the bags went pretty quickly, my favourite flavour was Pickled Onion but they were all delicious! If you would like to try Hoots Snacks you can find a list of places they are available, on their website here.

Have you tried Hoots Snacks before?

*Thank you to Hoots Snacks for sending me a selection to try, as always I only work with brands relevant to me and my blog.

The Story Behind The Photo #3

I can't believe I'm already onto my third one of these posts! This time I've chosen a photo of a place called Bradfield that we visited last year and it's so lovely there.
It's a place that is quite special to George and it's somewhere we want to start going every year. We went last April and even though it was chucking it down with rain it ended up being a really nice day. We went to a pub called the Old Horns Inn and had the nicest food! I remember I had the chilli with rice and chips and George had pie and chips. The chips were delicious and I'm already thinking about the amount I'm going to have when we next go! It was proper pub food which was so nice because it's not something we have very often. It's a really cosy pub and everyone who worked there was lovely. We had planned to have a long walk around Bradfield and take some pictures afterwards but we got drenched, it was so typical of it to rain for us on the one day we actually get there. Anyway, I'm so looking forward to going back next month, having some good pub food and hopefully the weather will be better this time and we can explore a bit more!

Did you see the first and second story behind the photo posts?

Superdrug & Boots Haul - Barry M, Rimmel & More

Last week I ordered quite a few new beauty bits from Superdrug and Boots so of course I had to do a haul! I've mentioned a few times I'm not really out there with my makeup and I tend to stick to the same products but I've been really wanting to branch out and try a few new things.
I placed an order on Boots first with my points, and I got 2 Barry M Nail Polishes. I love Barry M and have done for a long time but I have only just got round to trying some of their new Coconut Infusion polishes, they sound so interesting! I got the shades Flamingo and Bikini. I think both of these are going to be so perfect for summer and I can't wait to see what they look like on. I think I'll do a full review of these at some point and see if the coconut infusion part actually does much to my nails. As I spent over £8 on Barry M, I got the Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit free which I am so excited to try. I love my Sleek contour kit but I really want to try something new and see how it compares.
From Superdrug I ordered a few Rimmel products aswell as two of their own branded products. From Rimmel I got the Lasting Finish Concealer, Nail Polish in Black Cherries and a Soft Kohl Eye Pencil. I've been wanting to try the concealer for quite a long time now as I already use the Lasting Finish Foundation which is my all time favourite. I've heard mixed things about this so I'm looking forward to seeing how it works with the foundation and if it's any better than the concealer I use at the moment (Rimmel Wake Me Up) which I'm not actually that impressed with. I can never stop myself from buying nail polish and I just loved the look of the shade Black Cherries. I know it's Spring and I will be going for more pinks and lighter shades soon but this is just a perfect one for me and one I know I'll get a lot of wear out of, especially towards the end of the year. Eyeliner is just a staple makeup bag piece for me, I don't wear it all the time but I love the look it gives me and the one I have now isn't brilliant so I thought I would replace it.
The two other things I got from Superdrug are the Blending Sponge and the Eyelash Curlers. My Real Techniques Complexion Sponge is a bit of a mess now so I really wanted to replace it, as Superdrugs own sponge was on offer I thought I would give that a go first before buying another Real Techniques one. I'm not expecting it to be amazing but it had really positive reviews and if it's good then I'd be more than happy to switch to that in future. The Eyelash Curler is a bit of a random one but something I've needed for so long and just never got round to picking up.

I think all together this only cost me around £13 which is amazing for everything I got. Boots was completely free because of my points, and at Superdrug, I got 3 for 2 on the Rimmel products and the other two were relatively cheap anyway.

I can't wait to get using all of these and seeing what they're like! I'm sure they'll be a few reviews up of some of these so look out for those soon!

Have you tried any of these products that I've mentioned?
