5 Amazing Destinations For Campervan Holidays*

A Campervan holiday isn't something I've ever really considered until recently, but it's actually a great way to travel around the country and abroad throughout the year. There are lots of benefits to travelling this way - no need to put up a tent at every campsite, you can cover lots more ground whilst away, fully explore the area you're in and they're available to hire whenever you need them. So this post is going to be 5 amazing destinations you should consider for these campervan holidays!

Australia

I imagine Australia is on most peoples bucket lists and whilst it's currently not at the top of mine, I do love the thought of making the long journey one day and fully exploring everything it has to offer. Some of it's iconic landmarks to remember if planning a visit - The Great Barrier Reef, Ayers Rock, Sydney Opera House, Bondi Beach and Phillip Island just to name a few.

New Zealand

Like Australia, not only is New Zealand absolutely stunning, it has a plethora of amazing experiences and attractions to visit and take part in. From bustling cities to geothermal hotspots, beautiful beaches, fine restaurants, mountain biking, rafting and so much more, the list goes on and on! It's a place where the scenery is utterly incredible so it's not one to whizz through. Take your time taking in all of the landscapes and plan your route in advance so you don't miss out on anything.

USA

Well America had to be on this list didn't it? There are endless cities to visit, you are spoilt for choice and all of which make amazing destinations for a campervan trip. There are far too many things to write about America but some of the places I'd personally want to travel to are - the Grand Canyon, the Statue of Liberty, the White House, the Las Vegas sign, Niagara Falls and New York City. You could spend months and months and still never see everything! An absolutely perfect place to start your campervan journey.

Scotland

If you don't want to go too far afield with your campervan, Scotland is a top choice within the UK! There are an abundance of things to see and do in Scotland from visiting Edinburgh Castle to spotting the Loch Ness Monster, Arthur's Seat, Ben Nevis, Glen Coe, Glenfinnan Viaduct, Old Town Edinburgh though it's a place with something fascinating everywhere you look. A great one to see at any point during the year, it looks stunning in the summer but is also perfect for a festive Winter getaway.

Canada

Like America, Canada is definitely a place I'd like to holiday one year. Just a few of the attractions I'd like to visit - Banff National Park, Jasper National Park, CN Tower, Capilano Suspension Bridge, Old Quebec. Also if you're a keen skier, then Canada is the place for you.

A Small Book Haul

Ahh there isn't anything much better than buying a new book is there? After absolutely loving the recent books I've read, Five Years From Now and The Sisters, I was in need of a few more to try. I did start one that I'd had for ages but I just couldn't properly get into it, that's one for another time I think, so I decided to have a little browse on Amazon. If you've not already seen, there are some brilliant deals on books on there at the moment! Loads are reduced to £2 and all of the ones I got were on offer so now is definitely the time to look. Anyway I thought I'd share the books I got in case you're looking for something new too!

Pictures of Lily - Paige Toon

Paige Toon is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors. Five Years From Now has stuck with me ever since I closed the last page and I have been desperate to get my hands on some of her other books since. One that stood out to me is Pictures of Lily and as it was on offer for just over £6, I thought now was the time to snap it up. I have a feeling this is going to be another book that leaves me feeling all sorts of emotions but I'm so excited to get stuck in. Paige's writing is incredible so I'm looking forward to seeing how this book goes.

How to be Happy - Eva Woods

This was a very last minute addition. I'd never heard of it before until I saw tweet from someone saying how good it was and that instantly sparked my interest. From a few of the reviews I've read, I do think it's quite a sad book but I'm weird, I kind of like books like that, that really make me feel something. There was just something about it that resonated with me and kept pulling me back everytime I considered other books. I can't wait to get reading and see where it takes me.

This is Going to Hurt: Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor - Adam Kay

I went back and forth over whether to add this to my basket or not. It's one of the books I've seen all over social media for months now and each thing I've read has been positive so for that reason alone I felt like I had to see what all the fuss is about. The reason I held back for so long was because I have pretty severe health anxiety and anything to do with hospitals honestly makes me want to be sick so I just thought, this is going to really set me off. As I've made a start with counselling now though, I do feel, slowly, I'm improving and in a better place to deal with anything that could come up. I'm actually really looking forward to reading it now and I'm glad I decided to just go for it and buy it. It's £3.75 too so an absolute bargain!

I am just so excited to start of all these books, I actually don't know which to pick first! They all sound incredible for different reasons so I'm really torn. I'm sure they'll be reviews of these up once I've got through them so look out for those if you want to know what I thought. Levi Roots Caribbean Snack Pots Review*

Lunches are something I've struggled with for a while now, especially with working from home. I just lack inspiration when it comes to finding something exciting each day and sometimes I tend to repeat the same thing over and over and then I can't even face it the next week! Because I've been struggling to find something tasty and filling for lunch recently, I was thrilled when Levi Roots got in touch and asked if I'd like to try out their new range of Caribbean Snack Pots!

I was already a fan of Levi Roots other products, their original reggae reggae sauce is a favourite of ours to go with meals and I also love their instant marinades so I was really intrigued to see what the snack pots would be like. These have been created to spice up our lunchtimes, exactly what I need! There are 4 flavours, all packed with Caribbean spices that contain natural, wholesome ingredients, low levels of salt and sugar and they're also suitable for vegetarians too. I was sent each of the 4 flavours to try out so let me tell you what I thought of each one.

Reggae Reggae Noodles

The first pot I tried was the Reggae Reggae Noodles. I've never been a huge, huge fan of other brands like this but I was excited to see if these would be different, and they really were! I was pleasantly surprised to see the noodles were quite thin so cooked a lot quicker and the sauce wasn't watery in anyway. The BBQ flavour with subtle tomato and notes of allspice, thyme and scotch bonnet was perfect. Whilst spicy it definitely wasn't overpowering and it was far more filling than I expected it to be.

Rasta Pasta

I was a little sceptical of how the Rasta Pasta pot would be because I've had things like in the past and I find they always tend to be quite watery and plain tasting but I ended up really enjoying this pot! With mild spice, this pot contains chilli, pimento, nutmeg, cassia, parsley and basil. It was unlike any pasta pots I'd tried before as the sauce thickened really well, the pasta cooked perfectly and it had such a lovely flavour.

Caribbean Coconut Rice

I'm such a carb queen and anything with rice is usually a winner for me but this ended up being my least favourite of all the snack pots. That doesn't mean it's bad at all as it's not that there is anything wrong with it, the coconut flavour just isn't what I would usually go for. The Caribbean rice which contains an infusion of coconut milk, black pepper and chilli reminded me quite a lot of Thai red curry which I'm really not a fan of so it makes sense that this wouldn't be my fave, but I do think if you like meals like that, then this would be great for you.

Curry Noodles

As I loved the Reggae Reggae noodles so much, I was really keen to try the Curry Noodles. These have an aromatic blend of turmeric, chilli, coriander and fennel, mixed with onion, garlic and parsley which give this pot the fragrant taste of the Caribbean. I actually think I preferred these to everything else, the flavour was incredible, not too hot but had a nice kick. They were really filling and like with the Reggae Reggae noodles, the sauce consistency was perfect and they were just incredibly tasty. 

Aswell as loving the taste of these pots, I also love the colourful packaging. They are quite clearly part of the Levi Roots brand and I'd be drawn to them straight away in a store. The pots are really decent sized and as I've said already, incredibly filling, which for a snack pot you might not usually find. I've been enjoying these as lunch or as a snack when I'm feeling a little hungry in the afternoon and they've been great to have in ready to grab. Another thing I love is how easy they are to prepare too, fab for when you're busy either at work or at home and can't find a spare moment to make anything. Just pop the kettle on and in 5 minutes, your delicious snack pot is ready to enjoy.

I was so impressed with this range so I definitely recommend keeping an eye out for them in future. I'm going to pick up a few more to have in ready for days when I just don't have time but need something tasty for lunch. The Hamilton Tag

I have been a bit obsessed with all things Hamilton over the last few months, which you might have figured out from some of my recent musical blog posts including my Top 10 Hamilton Songs. I first discovered this show last year and it really didn't take me long to fall in love with it so if there's an opportunity to blog about it, I'm going to. I saw the Hamilton tag floating around on Youtube recently so I thought I'd give it a go too.

1. How did you find out about Hamilton?
As I'm pretty much always listening to some sort of musical, the title song Alexander Hamilton started playing on Spotify between whatever else I already had on and I just loved it. I only listened to a few select songs for a while and whilst I thought they were good I didn't jump straight in and listen to the full thing. Once I did though I was hooked and I've not stopped listening since. 

2. Favourite character?
Probably Angelica Schuyler, I love how sassy she is. I also really like Aaron Burr though too, I really don't see him as the villain he's portrayed to be.

3. Character you would want to play?
Again probably Angelica. I think there is so much to her character and she has one of the best songs in the whole show.

4. Favourite song to listen to?
It changes so often but at the moment probably Wait For It. There are just no words to describe it, it gives me goosebumps. I never get bored of The Room Where It Happens though aswell. Oh and One Last Time gives me chills! That's one I'm really looking forward to hearing live.

5. Favourite song to sing along with?
I don't really sing along to any but I do love Helpless. It's grown on me ever since I first heard it and now I play it all the time!

6. Part you always mess up?
Some of the cabinet battles are so fast, I think they're the ones that would be impossible to try and go along with.

7. Can you rap guns and ships?

I'd like to think so but it would definitely be a struggle!

8. Which cast member would you most want to meet?

It would have to be Lin Manuel Miranda wouldn't it? He is an actual genius for creating this amazing show and he deserves so much recognition for it. Leslie Odom Jr was absolutely incredible as Aaron Burr though as you can tell just by his voice on the soundtrack.

9. Have you seen the show?
Not yet but I am in December, it can't come soon enough!

10. Have you read the book?
No, maybe one day but for now the show is enough, it's taken me ages to properly get my head around it all.

11. Favourite line in the show?
There are so many to choose from! I love love love the 'immigrants we get the job done' line in Yorktown. 

12. Five words to describe the show?

Powerful, emotional, intense, breathtaking, addictive

I'm just incredibly excited to see the show now, I'm honestly counting down the days! Are you a Hamilton fan?
