Chicken Lasagne Recipe...

Lasagne is one of my all time favourite meals but I do love changing things up so last night I decided to give it a go with chicken and OMG it was delicious! It was just as easy to make and just as tasty and I really couldn't recommend it enough. I thought I'd post my recipe for you in case anyone wants to give it a go!
Ingredients: (for 2 people)
2  chicken breasts
1 pepper, chopped
1 onion, finely diced
1 tin of chopped tomatoes
400ml beef stock
1 tbsp mixed herbs
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp garlic powder
Dried lasagne sheets
White sauce mix or if making your own - 20g flour, 20g butter, 200ml milk, 20g of cheese
30g cheese for the top

1. Cut 2 chicken breasts into chunks and fry in a pan with frylight
2. When cooked, add in the chopped pepper and onion and fry until they soften
3. When the pepper and onion has softened, add in 1 tin of chopped tomatoes and 400ml of beef stock
4. Now add in any seasoning you want, I use mixed herbs, garlic powder, pepper and chilli powder
5. Leave to simmer for around half an hour
6. If making your own white sauce, start after about 25 minutes. To make my own I use 20g of butter which I first melt in a saucepan, when melted I add in 20g of plain flour and mix until it forms a dough
7. I then start adding a bit of milk and stirring until it's fully mixed in, I use about 200ml but only add in a bit at a time
8. Eventually you should end up with quite a thick, sticky sauce and you can then add in 20g of cheese, just stir until it's all melted. To make life easier you could use a packet white sauce which I do tend to do if I can!
9. When both sauces are done you can start assembling your lasagne! I usually do a layer of the tomato sauce in a big dish, a layer of sheets, a layer of white sauce then repeat. I usually get a few layers of out all of this then top with around 30g of grated cheese
10. Bake in a 200 degree oven for around half an hour, then serve with whatever you like! We had ours with salad and cheesy garlic bread because I'm all about the cheese
This was just incredible and I already can't wait to make it again! It was just a nice twist on the classic lasagne and such a comforting meal.

Michael Kors Wishlist...

I am never normally bothered about designer things, bags, jewellery, clothes - I have always been a high street girl and even though you can get some great things now in Primark, New Look and so many other shops, there has been something that I have been wanting a while now, that you can't find in a lot of place. I first saw the Michael Kors bags on Pinterest a good few months ago and they just seem to be cropping up on my home page all the time! I am just desperate for one, I love tote bags and I seem to find myself looking at them a lot now when we're shopping, which I never ever used to do! I just see so many nice, pretty bags and I want them all!

The Michael Kors bag I would like is the Selma Tote which I think would go with anything or the Jet Set Travel Tote which would be perfect to walk around with on holiday, it just has the look. But to say they're both a bit pricey would be an understatement!
Tan Selma Tote and the Jet Set Travel Tote. I think the Selma bag would look great in a dark pink too!
I also love these too!
What do you think?

Next Bakeware Wishlist...

As I am sure you know, I am in love with baking, I have mentioned it a few times in my blog posts! There are so many things I would like to add to my already huge bakeware collection and Next have some great things at the moment. I have actually baked today and could have done with some of these things!
Ditsy Double Oven Glove £8 and Ditsy Tea Towels £12 - I love the colours of these and they would go with our kitchen right now, I think they are really pretty.
Bird Cookbook Wire Holder £12 and 2 Piece Plastic Cake Dome £16 - I love the Cookbook Holder, would fit almost any book and so easy for when you are following a recipe. Love the cake stand, perfect for any food really!
Decorative Bird Cake Stand £14 and Set of 2 Florence Cake Tins £15 - Another cake stand but I think this is so nice, I love the bird at the top of it. The cake tins are great for when you are taking food to somebody else or for just storing it overnight.

What is on my nails #2

I have just rediscovered this nail polish and I love it. It's by Nails Inc, in the shade Chelsea and it's the perfect black. It glides on so well and I hardly get any chipping with this which is amazing. I love how it looks on.

Orange Is The New Black...

I have become obsessed with Orange is the new Black! It is is so good and I really wanted to blog about it. I know loads of people watched it months ago but we were in the middle of some other programs and didn't want to start something and then not commit to watching it all, so we started it last week and we are now into the second series.
I honestly didn't think I was going to love it as much as I do, we watch at least two episodes a night and I could easily watch more.

The programme is based on Piper Kerman's memoir 'Orange Is The New Black: My Year In a Women's Prison'. Taylor Schilling plays Piper and she is someone I hadn't heard of before but I love her in this programme. Other cast members include Laura Prepon as Alex Vause - Pipers ex girlfriend, the reason she is in prison, Jason Biggs as Larry - Pipers fiance, Uzo Aduba as Crazy Eyes - Cellmate obsessed with Piper and so many others! I love that in each episode you get flashbacks which show bits of each characters life. We learn more about Piper and Alex and their relationship and also find things about all of the other prison inmates and the reasons they have ended up in jail.

I seriously can't wait to get started on Series 2, I have no idea what I am going to do when we finish it!
Have you been watching this? If so, what do you think to it?

Goals for the next 5-10 years...

There are so many things I want to achieve over the next few years and I really hope I manage it. Some are work related and some are more personal but all really important to me. Have you set yourself any goals for the next few years?

1. Find a job I love.
I know that the only thing I really want to do as my 'job' is be a mum but that just isn't possible yet so I am on the lookout for something I am going to really enjoy right now. I think I might have found something I am just waiting to hear a response. I'd like to get a job where I can earn just a bit of money, enough to get by and save for the future.
2. Get Engaged.
This is something me and George talk about all the time and we both know it will happen sooner rather than later, i'm just waiting for it, hopefully this year but it's not really up to me.
3. Move into a house.
As soon as George finishes uni we want to get a house. Theres no way we can buy, we will have to rent but you can find some great 3 or 4 bedroom houses for a decent price! It is important we get a good or decent sized house in our price range as it will probably be the place we end up staying for a long time if things go to plan. I am not somebody who could deal with moving every few years, I want to be settled somewhere.

4. Go on an amazing holiday!
This is a goal just because we haven't been on holiday together yet! There are so many things that as a couple we just haven't done yet. Both of these have just been down to money and family things. We're really hoping to get a holiday next year, my dream is to go to Paris and I do think this will be our first holiday together, I'd also love to go to Venice/Rome too. Beach holidays are on my list too! We'd love to get away somewhere, hopefully by the time we both have jobs we can try and get a holiday in each year and one day have big family trips.

5. Have babies!
Within the next 5 years I would love to have a baby. When George leaves uni, apart from getting a house, the first thing I want is a baby! I just can't wait any longer. I have known since I was young that I was meant to be a mum, I think about it everyday and it will just make my life. We will still only be in our early twenties but I would have one now if we could afford it! I think that shocks people sometimes, but if you know what job/career you want you go for it and you do everything you can to get there, for me and some other people all they want is to have children and be a mum, I don't think it matters what age you are as long as it is the right time for you. Some people aren't 'career people', i'm just not, for me it is all about being a mum. Within the next 10 years I would love to have 2 or 3 children, I want a big family and would love at least 3 or 4!

Sticky Chicken Recipe...

This is a recipe we tried last night and it didn't go to plan! That is just because we burnt it and left it for too long, not because the recipe was bad! I thought I would still post it for you in case anybody wants to try it and include the pictures we took before it went wrong! I'm going to try and make it again soon so I can update this!
3 tbsp honey
3 tbsp balsamic vinegar
3 tbsp soy sauce
250g chicken, cut into cubes

1. Mix together the honey, soy sauce and balsamic vinegar in a bowl
2. Prepare the chicken then add to the bowl
3. Give it a stir then leave in the fridge for around 30 minutes
4. Heat a frying pan, add the mixture
4. Cook for about 20 minutes until all the liquid has absorbed into the chicken. Stir regularly to prevent burning. (This is where it went wrong for us!)
5. When the chicken is cooked, you can serve with rice and salad or whatever you prefer

I know this is probably the worst recipe post I've ever done but I fully intend to make it again and I'll post some new pictures then!

A Bit Of Hair Inspiration...

I am desperate for my hair cutting and I want a big change, I have waited so long for it to grow to the length it is now but it is just in the way! I had it cut into a long bob a few years ago and I liked it for a while but then I soon decided I preferred it long. It has took basically 2 years to grow to what it is now! I feel like i'm almost never happy with my hair no matter what I do with it. I do think as soon as I have a bit of money and get chance to go, i'm going to get something done with it. I've seen some pictures on Pinterest of what I would like, just have to see if I am brave enough to go through with it! I'd love to know what you all think!
I'd also love some colour adding to my hair, I feel like it is just a bit dull at the minute. I've had it dyed dark red/purple..ish, before but not sure if I would do that just yet. I like the look of blonde/caramel highlights.
I'm really not sure, there are so many looks that I like and want to try! I just know I need to change something!

What do you think to all of these hairstyles?

Wish Me Luck...

I've been applying for loads of jobs over the last few weeks and there is one that I am really hopeful about! It's an apprenticeship within Next and it just sounds so good, it's good pay and hours and it sounds perfect for me to be honest. I don't know why I'm doing this post really other than to just say wish me luck! I might not get it but so far I'm feeling really positive about it all!

Top 5 Films Ever...

I love films and over the last few weeks especially, we have just been watching loads and loads! We've tried to find as many new ones as we can and watched some that have been out a while that we'd just not got round to seeing. I love horrors, romance, comedy, anything apart from weird sci-fi or action ones so that's what we tried to find. Aswell as watching some new ones we also watched some of our favourites so I wanted to do a post on my all time favourite films. Let me know in the comments what your favourite film is!

1. About Time.
This was always going to be number one. We watched it last year and I have fallen in love with it. I love films with British actors in and Rachel Mcadams was great and worked so well with them all. My favourite scene is the wedding scene! I did a review of the film, thats how much I loved it. Read it HERE

2. P.S I Love You.
I will always remember going to see this in the cinema with a group of friends and all of us just sat there sobbing. I couldn't stop for hours, seriously. It broke my heart! This is something I don't always think to put on because I know how sad it is but if I saw it was on TV I would definitely watch it. I think its a film perfect for a cosy night in.

3. Something Borrowed.
We watched this film a few days ago and it is now one of my favourites. I don't even think I had seen it advertised til a few days ago when we watched an old DVD, it came out in 2011 and I had no idea about it. The film has Ginnifer Goodwin in who I really like. This is a romantic comedy and just a great movie! I will be buying this and I know this is going to become a film I watch a lot. I definitely recommend it.
4. The Other Woman.
This is a new film which we watched a few weeks ago now, when we were back in Sheffield. I did a review, which you can read HERE. Something else I know I will buy, Leslie Mann is so funny and I love just about any film that she is in. I really wanted the girls to get revenge and they did!

5. Bridesmaids.
This has got to be a film that everybody loves. So many good quotes throughout and it is just the funniest. It was the first film me and George went to see together, so when the first scene came on it was a little awkward... if you've seen the film then you'll understand. I could watch this everyday, I have lost the DVD though so definitely need to buy it again!

The Liebster Award #2

I did my first Liebster Award last week, which you can read HERE. I found out a few days ago I had been nominated for another by Life Of Laura. She has quite a new blog so go and check it out! As I have already done a Liebster Award, I'm not going to nominate anybody this time, I'll just answer the questions given to me.
My Questions:

1. Describe your blog in three words!
Lifestyle, Food, Beauty.

2. What posts on any blog do you love to read the most?
Monthly favourites, I wish I had the money to buy all the nice things I see every month! General posts about peoples lives, and recipes/food posts!

3. What is your favourite clothing store?
I love H&M at the moment.

4. What made you start a blog?
It all happened very quickly, I had chose to leave uni and was bored every single day and needed something to do. I love writing and talking so thought blogging would be a great idea and see what opportunities come from it.

5. What is your favourite TV show?
I have so many, I don't know if I can choose one! I love TOWIE, Made in Chelsea, Coronation Street, Big Brother. I love dramas too.

6. What is your favourite quote?
Again, this is something that I just have so many of that I love.
Breakfast at Tiffanys - Always believe that something wonderful is about to happen.

7. Do you have any ideas for new bloggers?
Just have fun with it and don't worry about what people think. When I first started I was worried that I would sound too common in my writing, or not clever enough but now I just write as if I am talking to someone face to face. I feel like it shows my personality a bit more to my readers. So just write what you want and how you want too. Don't be afraid to comment on peoples posts too and make friends, I am slowly starting to do this!

8. What is your favourite food?
I love Frankie and Bennys Calzone! It is sooo good! But I do love cooking at home, Chilli, Pasta Bake, just normal family meals.

9. How long have you been blogging for and what do you like most about it?
I started my blog in April and I love just been able to write about whatever I want and getting all of my thoughts and feelings down! I feel like it is somebody to talk to in a way, and somebody that doesn't judge me in any way. It sounds strange but it is a release for me in a way. I also love that I have had the chance to work with some companies, and hopefully more in the future. And I have got to talk to some lovely people.

10. If you weren't blogging what would you be doing instead?
I have no idea, I try to blog almost everyday, it is just something to do and occupy me for a while. I have been looking for work for ages and just don't seem to have any luck with it, so I almost treat blogging as my job for now! I will always carry on with it though even when I do find something!

11. What makes you happy?
George, we definitely get on each other nerves sometimes but we're very happy. I love the little things too, like been cosy in bed when it is raining, cooking a nice meal, going to the shops, spending time with people. Georges brothers Charlie and Alfie make me so so happy, they are so funny and we have just gone from spending every day with them for 6 six week to now not seeing them til Christmas! They also have a gorgeous cat named Shade, I love her so much! She's adorable and makes me so happy!! I actually really miss her.

Celebrity Gossip Week 7.

OK Magazine!
Danielle Lloyd has apparently fled the country and gone to Dubai after allegations that her husband Jamie O'Hara has cheated on her in their family home. It was reported just over a week ago that Jamie had invited a woman back to their home and had told her that the marriage was over and he was a single man. Danielle has told friends she feels totally humiliated and has took the children away while she has time to think about what to do. Neither of them have spoken about the reports yet but Jamie has been spotted without his wedding ring and apparently their house is up for sale. I feel really bad for her, they have 3 children together and she has spoken in interviews before about the struggles they have had together. It seems like the stories are true and the woman in question has been speaking to papers about it. Hopefully they can work things out but I think if hes cheated once, he could do it again. There are always stories about footballers cheating on their wives and I don't understand why!

Also in this weeks OK Magazine, there is an interview with Stephen Goode and Kimberly Kisselovich. They are talking about Kimberleys ectopic pregnancy which happened while they were in the big brother house. I really don't understand why they need to an interview on such a sensitive topic, they've known each for a few weeks and now they are getting publicity about what has happened and I don't think they need to be telling everybody about it.

Star Magazine.
There are rumours that the relationship of Joey Essex and Sam Faiers is in trouble and they are on the verge of splitting up. Apparently they haven't been seen together in over six weeks and have been arguing for a while due to busy schedules and Sam wanting to pursue a career over in L.A. When Sam was in Big Brother earlier on this year, I really wanted to see her in a relationship with Ollie Locke, a former contestant. He seemed to just adore her and like her so much but as soon as she left the house she got back with Joey. I think there relationship obviously didn't work the first time round for a reason, they had been together and engaged before but had split up on TOWIE. I think she is a lot more mature than him and you could tell that when they were on TOWIE together. I don't think they will last for too long.

Spaghetti Bolognese Recipe...

Spaghetti is one of my go to meals, it's so simple to make and relatively quick so I wanted to do a little blog post on it. There aren't that many ingredients included and most you probably have in anyway so it's a great meal to make when you're a bit stuck and not sure what to do!
250g Lean Beef Mince
Fry Light
1 tin of Chopped Tomatoes
Bisto Reduced Salt, 1 Beef stock cube and 400ml of water

1. Fry the mince in a pan with some fry light, now would be the time to add in any vegetables, I sometimes add in chopped onion
2. When the mince has browned, add the chopped tomatoes along with some salt and pepper
3. I leave this to simmer for about 10 minutes then add a stock cube and about a tablespoon of bisto with 400ml of water
4. While the sauce is simmering I start the spaghetti. I tend to do quite a lot because I love pasta but it's up to you how much you do
5. Just before the sauce is done, I add in a few herbs and spices, just italian seasoning, a bit more pepper and sometimes a bit of hendersons relish
It is so simple and if you do follow Slimming World, it is Syn free which is even better. This took no time at all and was delicious.
