Paperchase Stationary Wishlist...

I am obsessed with getting the spare room sorted and making it a perfect little office. I have so many ideas and we have them all down on paper, making it into reality is proving quite difficult though. I blame pinterest for giving me unrealistic expectations!

When you add everything up that we're wanting, it costs quite a lot, we need a desk, storage, shelves and then theirs all the little, cute stationary bits a blogger needs.. I am determined to get there though and make it like we've imagined.

As I have been looking on sites like Paperchase a lot recently, I thought I would do a wishlist and hopefully soon buy a few of these things.
I really want to get a photo frame for my Charm and Gumption Print. George got it me for christmas but I haven't had chance to put it up yet, I think it would look really nice in something like this Silver Plated Frame. Another frame I really like is this White Lace Frame, I bought a few postcards from Paperchase last time I was there, that had quotes on and I really want to put one of those in something like this. Similar to our bedroom, I want to get for pastel shades and florals. I really like this Watercolour Desk Pad and this Boxed Memo Notes. Paperchase do so many pretty things like this, I could buy the whole shop.

The last few things I saw on the site were these Scratch Maps. There is one for the UK and one for Europe. I'm not sure where we would put these but I think they are a great idea. These have a gold foil layer which you scratch off when you have visited somewhere. We have been more places in the UK than we have Europe, we're still yet to go on a proper holiday abroad but there are so many places we want to go and this is a great way of keeping track and looking back on all the places you've been.

Barry M - Espresso...

I put this on a few days ago as I needed a bit of a change and even though it's black and not really appropriate for summer, I just love it.
I try to stick to darker shades for my nails during autumn and winter, if you didn't see, I did a post all about this last year. I just think the colder months really suit colours like dark red, black, mustard, dark blues etc. When it starts getting close to summer, I always go for the pastel colours but when I was looking, I just couldn't find any I wanted to wear. I had a pastel yellow one on for about 2 days and then it started chipping and gradually got worse. I really need to invest in some new ones soon!

I decided to go for my trusty Barry M - Espresso. It just lasts for so long and I think it looks great on. I know this sounds really soppy but the weekend we got engaged I had black nail polish on so when I wear it, it always reminds me of that and the first picture I took of my engagement ring. I think this colour looks best with it too to be honest!

I've always loved Barry M products, especially their Gelly High Shine Nail Polish. I didn't realise until I bought Espresso that it was actually matte and I hate matte nails. It makes me feel funny, so I topped it with the Barry M Base Coat, Top Coat and Nail Hardener which gives a lovely shine.
What colour do you love wearing on your nails in summer? Have you got this Barry M nail polish?

Wedding Planning #2

I mentioned in my Wedding Planning #1 post that we had come up with the idea to get married here in probably a registry office, either just the two of us or with a few friends and family and then head to New York for our honeymoon.

For now, I think that plan has changed. I think we are quite set on getting married just us two. I know a lot of people say once you start thinking of who to invite to the wedding and reception thats when it starts to get really stressful, as you already have so much to think about! I think especially the way things are at the moment with our families, it would just be a mess trying to work out who to invite and it would take away from what is actually happening. I don't want our wedding to become about other people, it should be about just us.

I love the idea of getting married abroad. I always thought that getting married on a beach somewhere would be perfect and I do still like that idea, it could still happen. For now, I think we are going to go ahead with going to america and getting married over there. I'm not sure about all the legal stuff, we'd need to look into places that you can get married over there and all the important things but we have plenty of time for that. We still need to save for this first! We are hoping to go over there for our 5 years which will be next summer, I think that would be the perfect time.

The place I want to go to the most in New York. There are so many places I would love to go to in America and I know George would love to see some other places too, but for so long we have wanted to visit New York, it just looks so special. I really want to go to Times Square at night, see the Statue of Liberty, go to the 9/11 Memorial, there is so much to do there. It would be an amazing holiday/honeymoon/wedding all rolled into one.
We've also decided that if we do this, we're not going to take a big wedding dress and a fancy suit. I want to get a pretty, little summer dress, something like this and George would take a shirt and tie, something like that anyway. I just want it to be really natural and just a nice day. I think a big over the top wedding here would just stress us both out too much.

Now we just need to get saving and hopefully make it happen next year!

Begin Again Review...

Begin Again (2014)

Main Cast:
Keira Knightley, Adam Levine, Mark Ruffalo, James Corden.

An american Musical comedy, starring Keira Knightley who plays a singer songwriter going through a breakup, discovered by a struggling record label executive, they go onto make an album recorded on the streets of New York and change both of their lives.
If you don't want to know anything, stop reading now!

This film just made me smile. Not just because Adam Levine stars in it. Just the music, the actors, the story, all of it was just really heartwarming and just nice to watch. I hadn't really been that keen on Keira Knightley before, I hadn't watched many films with her in, maybe one or two but in this one she was really really good. She played the broken hearted girl very well and who knew she could sing?! The songs are so good and they have their place on my ipod already. I love Mark Ruffalo, I have loved most films he is in so that was one of the main reasons I wanted to see this. He is just a funny man, and of course Adam Levine is in this so who wouldn't like it. He's a very handsome man. I like that with this film it isn't a typical romantic comedy, theres no new relationships, just friendships, its a film based around that and music, an unlikely pair meet and take on this new project. I also love that James Corden was in this film, a lot of people slate him but I think he is really good. I think the only thing that let me down a bit with this film was the ending, it didn't really seem to end if that makes any sense. I really want to watch this again soon though so it definitely hasn't put me off, I definitely recommend this film if you want something to watch on a chilled saturday night.

Have you seen this film? What did you think?

Have you read my review of A Long Way Down?

Summer Clothing Wishlist - Asos, New Look & Primark...

I am in serious need of some summer clothes now the warm weather is starting, I feel like I have nothing! When I was looking at Asos and New Look, I didn't actually find that much, i'm hoping they'll be getting some new stock soon, I found a few things though and I found a lot on the Primark new in section on their site.

Asos & New Look.
Images all taken from New Look, Asos and Primark.
I have never had anything like this Flare Sleeve Bardot Top but I love it and the colours are perfect for summer. It would be perfect for showing off a tan! This off the shoulder Jumper would be good for wearing now while the weather is still a bit in-between. Some days its really warm and others its raining and cold. This jumper doesn't look too thick so it would be great for throwing on when you're not sure on the weather. It's one I would wear all year round. The only dress I found on New Look was this Aztec Print Maxi. I'm not sure if its something that would suit me but I just love the style of it and the way it actually cuts out at the knee and then the shear material carries on. I really like this vest too which I would wear so much in summer. I had something really similar a few years ago and it was so comfy.

I love both of these swing type tops. I love things like this especially for summer as its nice to not feel like your clothes are sticking to you. I think they look good with jeans and sandals too. I'm not sure i'd wear the belt with this dress from Primark but I love the top of it. I want a simple black maxi dress as I don't have one at the moment and they're great for just throwing on. The last thing I saw was these pumps which are very similar to something I have had the last few years from H&M. The ones I had from H&M were the comfiest things and they looked really nice with jeans in the summer, I love the navy blue colour.

Do you like anything on this wishlist?

My Favourite Pinterest Quotes...

I am obsessed with Pinterest. I go on it everyday and the boards I have on there are literally full of random things. I posted a while ago, my favourite wedding pins and I thought I would do the same but with my quotes board. This took me quite a while to find a few I really liked as I just find so many I can relate too!
Images all taken from my boards on Pinterest.

When a pinterest quote just gets you...

I saw this quote on pinterest a few days ago and it has been on my mind since.
Image from Pinterest.
I feel stupid saying this because it is just a quote and I pin enough of them on pinterest but it made me emotional too and it got to me a little bit. I think it's because at the moment I don't feel very strong. For a long time I feel like I have put other people first and now I need to start thinking of myself, as selfish as that sounds. I feel like I rely on other people to much to make me happy and I need to start doing that myself.

I wasn't a very confident person anyway but over the last few months, the little confidence I did have has been knocked because of inconsiderate people who have nothing better to do than bitch about others. It's not nice to know you're been talked about and to know people don't like you. I've always thought I was a nice person and I get on with everyone. Now I know a few people think certain things about me, I feel like everyone does. Now it's hard to go out feeling confident, it's hard to find something nice to wear because I worry everyone thinks certain things about me, it's hard to talk to people because I feel like they won't like me before they've even had a chance to get to know me. I've been made to feel like i'm not good enough and it's hard to get that out of your head once its in their.

I would love nothing more than to prove people wrong and to show them I am good enough but right now I don't believe it. I hate that I have let other people make me feel like this.

The reason this particular quote upset me is because I used to be strong, I was a really strong person, I've always been emotional and I cry quite a lot but mentally I could handle things and now I feel like I can't. And part of the reason I want to sort this out and get better is because I want more than anything to be a mum one day and I want to be the best mum possible. I need to be strong mentally and emotionally. I already feel so protective and have so much love for them and I don't even have them yet. I feel like even though they aren't here yet, they're the ones pushing me to to get through this as crazy as it sounds. I don't want my kids to grow up feeling the way I did/do. I want them to be strong but for that to happen they need to have a strong mum. I'll love any children I have but I really hope one day I get to have a daughter and if I do I want her to be a strong, independent and kind woman and if she was to be anything like me, she would probably be a little bit sassy. I want her to be able to get through anything life throws at her and I want her to have a mum to look up to. But for that to happen I need to get through this first, I need to start thinking about me, I need to get rid of the bad people in my life, I need to get to a point where I don't care whether others like me or not, I need to find something that makes me happy and I need to have a life where I don't rely on other people for that.

My Favourite Scents...

I'm not the type of person who has a massive wardrobe full of new clothes, a huge beauty collection, all the things typical bloggers have but as I have posted quite a lot about makeup and beauty I thought I would do a post a little different and talk about my favourite scents.

I don't have a huge amount of perfume, just a few favourite bottles but the ones I have are some of the best.

One I have had for a few months is the Boss Orange Eau De Toilette which I just love. It is the perfect scent for the warm weather. It's a fruity scent with hints of vanilla and it isn't too strong. I can just put a little bit of this on my neck and wrists and I can smell it for hours, but its not overpowering. It's one of those that would make people ask what perfume it is, for all of the right reasons. I love the packaging too, this is quite pricey but it is on sale every so often and you can get a smaller version in a gift set too. George got me this for our first christmas and he bought it me again this year for valentines, I think it will be one that hopefully he will get me every so often on special occasions!
Another perfume I use is The Body Shop Amazonian Wild Lily Eau De Toilette. I got this in a huge body shop set. It was over a year ago now but I bought something the body shop had on offer. It was around £80 reduced to £40 but the contents was worth way more than that. It was a bag just full of all their different products and I think there was actually more than one perfume in there. I did a post on it a while ago which you can read here if you want. This just smells really fresh, as described on the website, it has an aquatic scent and it isn't a really strong scent. This is one I just put on if I am in a rush, I also like to spray a bit around the flat sometimes to freshen it up a little bit!
What's your favourite perfume?

Shaving Tips & Tricks...

This might be a bit of a random blog post but I was inspired by a video on Carly Musleh's Youtube channel and after trying it out I wanted to blog about it! Carly said in the video that when she was younger she didn't have anyone to talk to about these sort of things and its something she had to learn herself, I was exactly the same. Not everyone has a family member or friend who they would feel comfortable talking about shaving too, most like me just keep it to themselves! I think it's a great idea to write a post with a few tips for those who aren't really sure if they're doing it right and what products to use!

Exfoliating - This is the first step and at the moment I am using a Baylis and Harding Body Polish which contains lots of little beads which scrub away any dead skin cells. This particular scrub has botanical extracts of cornflower, geranium and wild pansy and walnut shell to exfoliate, coconut oil for moisture and shea butter for softening so it smells amazing! My legs are already feel so soft and after using this and this is only the first step. If you want to try this exfoliater, I know it is sold on Amazon, I got it in a gift set and I always see things like that in places like Debenhams and House of Fraser. The Body Shop also do some great body scrubs in so many different scents. They always have some sort of sale on too so you can get them at a reasonable price. When you have exfoliated, wash it off and towel dry.
Shaving Foam - I use the Bic Soleil Lady Travel Shaving Gel which smells so good! It's a really fruity scent. I only need to use a little bit of this as it spreads so well over my legs. This just generally helps with shaving and it makes it a lot easier to notice if you've missed any places!
Clean Razor - I really recommend using a disposable razor. I use these all the time and its just so much more for your money. I have had the types before that have moisturising blades and things like that but given how long they last, to me it just isn't worth it. For a pack of disposable razors, its only about £1 which is great and they do last quite a while. I have so many in a draw that I haven't used yet! As long as your razor is clean, you should get a closer shave so softer skin.
When you have done all of these steps, pat your skin dry with a towel as the skin is sensitive. You can then finish with a moisturiser, something like a Body Shop Body Butter, I have so many of these.

So thats my tips and what I've been doing for a while! It makes my skin so soft!

Debenhams Easter Competition...

I was asked by the people at Debenhams if I wanted to take part in their latest competition, which gives you a chance to win a garden party set worth £1500, of course I said yes!

Though we live in a flat and don't have a garden at the moment, I am hoping when we move again, we will be moving into a house, hopefully with a garden that we can make our own and add our own little touches too. I'm not too keen on gardening but I know George is and we already have ideas of how we would like it, I can't wait to be able to do it up how we want.

There are so many things I would love in the garden but here are just a few.
Outdoor Daybed, Barbeque, Silver Lantern.
Round Table and Chairs, Floral Cake Stand, Bowls and Spoons, Tray.
I love the pastel accessories, im a bit obsessed with pastel things at the moment so I can imagine I would have lots of little things like this. How cute are the bowls and spoons? I have also been wanting a lantern like this silver one for ages! I thing it would look so pretty with a candle in at night while sitting out on the garden!

I was notified of this competition by debenhams*

A Rant About Youtubers...

I'm aware this post could come across a bit bad and some people might disagree with some of the things I say but I can't not talk about it! Twitter just doesn't let me get everything out that I want to say in 140 characters.

I am just so sick of all of the 'big youtubers'. I really don't know when they all started getting so big headed and thinking they are more important than they really are. The majority of them also put no effort into their videos now either.

If you are subscribed to the big youtubers then you can probably guess the people I am talking about. I actually don't mind Zoella - Zoe Sugg. I wasn't that bothered about her first but I love her vlogs and her main channel videos aren't as bad as others. I just think with Zoella it looks like her heart isn't in it anymore. She could be perfectly happy but I don't think that shows and she doesn't look that happy to be filming a video most of the time, its only in her vlogs where you see the real her. I actually feel a bit bad for her because of the whole ghostwriting scandal that im sure most people know about. I haven't read her book and I don't really intend to but I can understand why she had help, its a novel and when its your first book, I can imagine you can't do it by yourself. She's had quite a lot of bad press over it and I don't think most people would deal with it very well. I think she had much more reason to have a ghostwriter than Tanya Burr. I wrote about this a little bit here, for some reason I bought Tanya's book and I was so disappointed to find out she had a ghostwriter too. Seriously her book is about herself! How can anyone know her better than herself? It makes no sense, I get things have to be edited and tweaked but getting a ghostwriter on a book about your own life is stupid. I understand that youtubers all get these great opportunities but all they all seem to be doing is bringing out books, be a bit more original. First Zoe then everyone just jumped on the bandwagon. Tanya with 'Love Tanya', Alfie Deyes with 'The Pointless Book and The Pointless Book 2' Louise from Sprinkle of Glitter is also bringing out a book this year and so is Joe Sugg. Surely there has to be other things you can do, it isnt making you stand out from the rest of them. I know Fleur De Force brought one out too but I love her, she seems really down to earth and she documented in vlogs her actually writing all of it herself, clearly it can be done with no help. Tanya also brought out a makeup line which consists of lip glosses and nail polishes. Not ones that I have tried, her range isn't going to last longer than the established brands like Rimmel, Maybelline, Barry M etc.
Zoella and Tanya Burr - Source 1. Source 2.
Also, for the amount of money these people have, I think they should really put more effort into their videos. I get they have to come up with ideas every week, film and edit and it probably is more effort than we realise but that isn't as hard as been a nurse, doctor, working every day of the week, all the other hard jobs out there which people do for a fraction of their wage. Aswell as having a decent amount of money for little work, they also go on amazing holidays, how nice would it be to just go on a break whenever you want yet it never seems like they appreciate it, like its just another holiday. It is so frustrating every week when they upload videos to see the same thing again and again. Monthly favourites, my current makeup routine, a beauty haul, the occasional whats on my iphone, who cares? and don't get me started on the Q&A's!! How many Q&As do they really need to do? Its at least one a month by the majority of them, to me that is no effort at all. All you do is tweet asking for some questions and that is it, where is the thought in that? It actually really angers me to think that they just do the same things over and again and their fans are all too young and naive to realise. There are also a few who come across as very sweet and innocent on camera but all you have to do is look their social media and you'll see that really some of them are quite bitchy and not very nice people. That applies to others who I haven't in this post too.
Alfie Deyes and Fleur De Force - Source 1, Source 2.
This whole post probably doesn't make much sense but I am just so fed up of them all. I actually like quite a few youtubers vlogs, I think vlogs are always better than main channel videos but its hard to get past how little effort they put in and that they just don't seem to care. I'm aware this post could just make me look like im jealous of them but who wouldn't want their life? I just know if I was lucky enough to be in their position and could do Youtube for a living, I would be working so hard. They should trying living like normal people for a while, maybe then they'll appreciate their job and their fans.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Blush...

I bought this Rimmel blusher when we were in London and I honestly love it so I had to do a blog post on it.
I had been using an MUA one and as they are only a £1 it wasn't great. I really wanted to try one I hadn't had before and as I love most of Rimmels products, I thought I would try of theirs. There were 4 shades to choose from and I went for Pink Rose which I think is just a gorgeous shade.

I love that with this blusher you know its there but it isn't too much. With some blushers I feel like I am putting loads on but its not making a difference, if that makes sense? Basically my old blusher just wasn't adding anything to my face. With this I only need a little bit and it adds a pink shimmery glow to my cheeks.

This was £3.99 which I think is a really good price bearing in mind how good it is. Some blushers you can be paying almost £10 or more and I wouldn't want to waste my money when you can get something just as good for a fraction of the price.

Have you tried this blusher? Whats your favourite blusher at the moment?
