A Reflection On 2014...

This year has had its ups and downs. I was just thinking about all the things that have happened this year and I really don't know how it's gone so quick and how much has changed.
We started the year off in Leicester, I was doing a nursing course, everything was going okay until I started work placement and had an awful time. Around the time this happened I had a big falling out with my family, I still don't talk to them so it's been a big thing to adjust to and deal with this year. Then George decided to leave uni but luckily he got a job within days back in Sheffield so things did get better! It feels strange that we started the year in a different place to where we are ending it.When we moved back to Sheffield we weren't sure if we were going to be in a new place before christmas and new year but luckily it all turned out okay and we got to have our first christmas day together which was amazing. We now live in a cute little flat which is perfect for now and after been here a few weeks it's finally becoming a home. So even though there have been bad things this year as I am sure there has for everyone, there has also been some really good things happen. The main thing this year that I can't not talk about is getting engaged! It just made my life. We had such a good weekend in Manchester and sometimes I still find it hard to believe we're actually going to get married after thinking it about it for so long. The ring is just beautiful and perfect for me, I still stare at it. We're finally starting to think about planning and saving for the wedding now so expect some planning posts over the next year! and that leads me on to say that I started my blog in 2014! I never thought I would love it this much and that it would give me some great opportunities to work with people and talk to others and make friends. I can't imagine myself not blogging now, it's just part of my everyday life and I intend to carry on with it and love it just as much in 2015

Birthday Wishlist 2014...

I know christmas has only just passed but it is my 20th on the 7th of January so there really isn't a big gap between christmas day and my birthday! I wanted to do a wishlist as there are a few things I am hoping for.
Jamie's Comfort Food Book, Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub, Lush Honey Bee Bath Bomb.
Pretty Honest: The Straight Talking Beauty Companion Book, Mary Berrys Cookery Course, Lush Cupcake Mask, New Look Pyjamas.
Taylor Swift 1989, Stella Series 3 DVD.

Of course it's not all about presents so I really won't be disappointed if I don't get any of these!

What I Got For Christmas 2014...

I don't want people to think I am showing off or bragging about anything that I got in this blog post, i'm really not, these are the sort of posts and videos that I like every christmas and I think loads of other people enjoying seeing what people got too! George really spoilt me this christmas and I got some things I really wasn't expecting! I feel like a very lucky girl. I know I am awful at taking pictures so I am very sorry!
I was so happy to get a wedding planner! Our Very Huge Big Day was one I spotted a while ago and I just thought it was the perfect one for us. It has everything you need for planning a wedding, going through this showed me that we have so many things to think about! It is also a bit lighthearted and jokey too so really is just perfect for us. So happy we can start planning and saving now. I didn't think I would get the new One Direction album as it was something I mentioned quite late but I think George knows my love for them has grown recently. As soon as this album was out and I heard some of the songs I knew I had to get it. We had this on while we were cooking christmas dinner and it was  even better than I was expecting, I think George secretly loved it too. The Other Woman is a film I mentioned on my blog a while ago because it was just so good. This is a film I know I will watch over and over, and I really wanted to see Begin Again in the cinema so I was very surprised and pleased to see this!
I was really hoping to get some stuff from Lush for christmas and I did! I didn't expect a gift set though so this was a nice surprise. I got the Christmas Candy Box which has Candy Mountain Bath Bomb, Rock Star Soap, Butterbear Bath Bomb and Snow Fairy. Snow Fairy and Butterbear are really my favourite things from Lush so this was the perfect set. I also got a separate bath bomb which is the Shoot For The Stars. I used this on boxing day and wow this is amazing! My bath was like a galaxy! Seriously one I will repurchase over and over. Something different I wasn't expecting is Gone Girl. I mentioned a while ago I wanted to read the book before I saw the film and now I can! He does listen to me sometimes.
My main present this year was something I had really really wanted, it is a Remington Silk Curling Wand. I find it so hard to style my hair, it just doesn't do what I want it too and is so long now so I really needed something. I normally curl my hair with the straighteners and even though it does it okay it just doesn't last but I have heard good things about this so I can't wait to try it! To go with this I got the V05 Volume Boost Gel Spray and V05 Nourish My Shine Bedazzling Oil Heat Protector

The present that shocked me the most was this Bloggers Gonna Blog print. I did a post on Charm and Gumption a while ago which you can read here and I just fell in love with some of their stuff. It's an American store so I was so surprised to see something of theirs! I'm going to put it in a frame and have it in the spare room/office when its all sorted.
Aswell as these things I also got some chocolate in my stocking which included Thorntons Original Toffee, Thorntons Chocolate Smothered Toffee, Chocolate Truffles, Milk Chocolate Strawberry Sticks and Mint Dark Chocolate Waves.

I am so grateful for everything I got this year and I just love it all.

What did you get for christmas this year?

Christmas 2014...

I am going to do a 'What I got for christmas post' soon but I just wanted to do one now with a few pictures! I hope you all had a great day! I had such a good time, spending the day with George. We made a pretty successful christmas dinner, we really struggled to eat it all! We watched loads of christmas TV, how good was Eastenders? and sat and ate loads of chocolate, the perfect christmas. Boxing day was more of the same, we've just had a really nice few days, it even started snowing tonight just after I had a relaxing Lush bath with one of my new bath bombs!
Sorry if the pictures aren't great! L-R, Homemade honey glazed parsnips and stuffing, the huge christmas dinner, a Lush bath, and it snowed! Couldn't take the best picture from our bedroom window.

Family Weekend In Our New Home...

I have completely abandoned my blog for the last few days, I haven't had chance to get on the laptop but I was always conscious that I need to get on and write some posts up! This will probably be the last one before christmas but they'll be back to normal next week!

The reason I couldn't put any posts up this weekend was because we had Georges brothers over and we had such a good time! They were supposed to stay 2 nights but ended up staying 3 and I think they wanted to stay longer! They kind of took over the laptop so it was impossible to get onto it, and the xbox but we did have a great time. We watched a load of films, including Mrs Doubtfire which I have never watched all the way through! I have always seen clips but this was the first time actually sitting down to watch it and I really enjoyed it. I sometimes struggle to just sit and watch something but with this I was just enjoying it so much. We had loads of sweets, did some baking and they helped me cook too! I think they're coming to stop with us again in a few weeks time so I really can't wait. It was nice to have George at home too for more than just one day this weekend! Since we have moved he's literally had a few days here and I have kind of had to settle in to the new place by myself which I really struggled with. It was nice to spend time together and just relax. This weekend Tracey (Georges auntie) came over and gave us some engagement presents! We got a bottle of champagne which looks so fancy! We've decided to save it until christmas day, we also got some lovely chocolates which are obviously all gone now and a lovely card.
We're definitely making progress with the flat. There is still stuff in the spare room to sort through but we've got plenty of time to go through it all. There are a few extra things we want to add like a living room rug, some wall art and new photo frames but its stuff we can build up and add over time. We've put some nice things up on the walls too so it really feels like ours now. We're both looking forward to christmas here, it didn't take us long to realise we wanted christmas here and just the two of us. I can't wait to get cooking on christmas day and make an amazing (hopefully) christmas dinner for us. We want to make it really special, all the food has been bought now and all the  presents are wrapped so it just needs to hurry up now!
Next Wall Picture, Lovely vase with flowers and a candle for the bathroom. Some pot pourri in such a nice bronze dish and my favourite ever photo, me, George and his mum.
I really can't wait for christmas and think it will be our best one yet, its actually our first christmas day together in 3 and a half years and our first christmas engaged! It seems like the perfect way to round off the year, just the two of us together.

I hope all of you have an amazing christmas and a very happy new year!

What is in my Makeup Bag...

I did one of these a while ago, right back when I started my blog so I thought I would do a little updated version. My makeup is very basic and I don't experiment too much, I am getting there though, one thing at a time.
Rimmel Long Lasting Foundation - I started using this a few months ago and I have mentioned it a few times on my blog because it is so good. You can read my review of it here. I haven't used a foundation which actually stays on my face all day, I love the way it makes my skin look.

MUA Hide and Conceal - I actually really like this concealer and I think it is good for just £1. I do want to get a different one soon but this does the job. It covers any blemishes well.

Collection Pressed Powder - I have been using this for so long! It is such a good powder, I use it on my t-zone and any any other areas I feel are a bit shiny.

Miss Sporty Ohh! Tan So Fine Bronzing Powder - I use this on my cheekbones, around the forehead and under my jaw just to try and create some sort of definition! It works I think and I really like the subtle tan it gives to your skin.

MUA Blusher - I have this in Shade 2 and it is a really nice peachy pink and just adds a little flush of colour to my cheeks. I feel like it works really well the bronzer.

Natural Collection Eyeliner - I have about 3 eyeliners and I just pick whatever is closest to the top of the bag. I really don't notice a difference between my eyeliners, I apply it on the lower lash line and blend with a small brush. Other eyeliners I use are the Collection Intense Colour and the MUA Intense Glitter. I only use the glitter one when we are going out or doing something special. It isn't too noticeable, it is still a very dark black shade with specks of glitter.

Rimmel Wonder'full Mascara - I love this mascara! I do have quite long lashes but this just extends them even more! They separate so well and don't go clumpy with this. I did a review of this which you can read here.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Balm - This is something I discovered a few weeks ago now and I just want all of the shades because it is so good and I honestly like the look of every colour. This is just so nice to apply, it has a lovely vanilla scent and my lips just feel so soft with this on. It almost tints your lips too so hours later your lips still have some colour. If I don't use this I use my No7 lipstick in the shade Classic Rose. This is quite a dark lipstick for me but I just apply it with a lip brush and add a little at a time. I usually apply No7 High Shine Gloss on top of this too in the shade Smile.

Something else I occasionally use is my MUA Pro-Base which has different colours in a palette which are all aimed to target different things. I wanted to get this as the green shade is supposed to combat redness. It did work but I seemed to find that I had started breaking out after using this. I am going to leave it a while then maybe try again just so I can work out if it was actually that which caused the breakout. If anybody could recommend any products which combat redness I would really appreciate it!
The makeup brushes I use are the Real Techniques core collection. I use the pointed foundation brush, sometimes the detailer brush for my concealer but a lot of the time I just my finger to blend it in. I use the buffing brush for my powder and the contour brush for my bronzer. I also have a real techniques blush brush which I obviously use for my blusher.

Do you use any of these products?

Rimmel Long Lasting Foundation...

This is something that was mentioned as a weekly favourite but I thought it deserved a proper review as I love it so much and it has been quite a while since I spoke about it.
This foundation claims to last 25 hours leaving skin feeling hydrated. I can't say whether it does last the full 25 hours or not but when I do wear it, it stays on for as long as I want it too and I never feel like I need to top up my make-up and add more as the day goes on. I love that when I wear this I don't have to worry that when I next look in the mirror, all of my make-up will have just disappeared. I have a bad relationship with my skin, it just doesn't do what I want it too, I get spots and redness and I honestly hate it sometimes. I am always worrying that you'll be able to notice it under my make-up but with this you really can't. It gives me enough coverage to last the day and I don't need to apply loads either.

This foundation does claim to have a 'lightweight coverage'. As I just said the coverage is great but I don't know if I agree that it is lightweight. Sometimes I put this on and I can feel it on my skin for a while, I blend and buff it in but it doesn't always give me that feeling that I have nothing on my face like some other foundations do. This could be something that is different for others who use it though. I would say that is the only con I can find with this product, it definitely isn't something that would stop me buying it again in the future, I actually think this will be the one I stick with for a while. The way it makes my skin look all day is good enough for me. It sounds strange but I also love the smell of this foundation! I'm not sure why, it just smells nice! That isn't always the case with a lot of make-up products, I also love the bottle and the packaging.

I bought this when it was on offer in Asda for £5 and at the moment it is only £4.98! You can also buy it at Boots and Superdrug where it is £7.99. They do have 3 for 2 on cosmetics too.

What do you think to this foundation?

Foodies Gift Guide...

Every christmas there are certain things that I always look forward to. I love opening presents and seeing my favourite chocolates or some sort of cooking gift set, or a recipe book. I could honestly cook and bake everyday so it's always exciting to see those gift sets in store around christmas time. And I just love chocolate. I also go a bit mad when it comes to buying gifts like this for other people, people we buy for always have some sort of chocolate wrapped up as part of their present!

Depending on the sort of thing you are looking for, something like these particular chocolates from Sent With A Loving Kiss would be perfect. Sent With A Loving Kiss have handcrafted British luxury chocolates all presented in a personalised tin which you can keep forever! It is such a cute idea and I think it is great that you can add a nice little message so every tin is different. All of these tins come with a variety of chocolate, I really like the Christmas Cuties set which includes Milk Chocolate Present Discs, Milk Chocolate Christmas Tree Discs, Milk Chocolate Stocking Disc and Milk Chocolate Star Discs. This is normally £19.99 but if you use the code H1403 you can get it for £17.99. Another set I like is the Merry Love which includes White Chocolate Kisses Discs, Dark Chocolate Mistletoe Discs, Milk Chocolate Heart Discs and a Milk Chocolate Personalised Bar. With you bar you could choose a name to go on it, a date or a motto, whatever you like. This is normally £22.99 but you can use the same code H1403 to get this for £20.99.
This year I have found some great deals at BHS, every time I look they seem to have another offer on and at the moment they are doing quite big discounts of christmas gifts. I have found 3 things which I think would all make really nice presents!
I have had my eyes on the American Fries set for a while now, it would be so good to just stack your chips up in the little baskets, like your in a fancy restaurant! It just makes things look a bit more interesting! It also comes with a metal shaker and some seasoning. This is currently on offer for £12. Something else I like the look of is the Luxury Toffee Selection which is only £4.80. I love toffee so this would be perfect for me! It comes with 4 varieties too. The last thing I thought looked really good at BHS was this Burger Cookbook and Seasoning Set. I think this would be perfect for George! The cookbook contains 100 recipes which I think is mad, I didn't know there was that many different ways to make a burger! You would be able to make some many different types with that many recipes. This is normally £15 but it currently only £7.50!

The last few things I think would be great for christmas are from Next. I love when we go to restaurants and they have a bread board or a bread tin on the menu. We have to order it! I saw this Oil and Vinegar Dip Set and it is just the best gift, if anyone wants to buy it for me, feel free! So then I can be fancy and do my own bread board for people. I really like the look of this Home Cooked Comforts Recipe Book which is £8. It has some really great winter dishes like pies and casseroles, just great for this time of year!
I hope this has given you some inspiration for christmas presents this year if you're struggling or know someone who really loves their food and cooking!

Winter Nails Picks...

I don't know about you but when it get to winter time I always head for certain colours when it comes to my nails. I seem to have ones that go well for summer, pinks, pastel colours but then when it starts getting colder, straight away I go for the blacks, reds and the sparkles!

I change my nail colour about once a week, it normally depends how long the nail polish I have on is lasting and if it has chipped or not, but normally I choose a weekend to relax a little bit and give my nails some attention.

This winter there are 3 nail polishes that I have been loving.

Barry M - Mustard, Barry M - Espresso and Rimmel Kate Moss Rock n Roll. I think all of these are great for autumn/winter. I usually put the black Barry M on my toes and I keep it on for ages! I probably shouldn't but it just lasts and looks so good. I wore the Barry M mustard one a few weeks ago on my nails and I thought this was just perfect for this time of year. I love the colour of it, a bit unusual and different to what I normally would choose. The Rimmel one is just a classic. Everyone needs a good red nail polish and I have loved this one since I got it. I have had it on a good few times and just keep going back to it. I think this one would look great with a glitter top coat. The one I have my eye on is the Essie Luxeffects Set In Stone. I also really like the Essie Luxeffects A Cut Above, this would be great just by itself but I think it would also really look really nice on top of the black nail polish!
What colours do you go for in the winter months?

We're Moving....

This is probably the last blog post until at least next week unfortunately. We are moving tomorrow and won't have any internet until next week which I am very sad about. I have no idea what I am going to do with my days! I am always blogging so it might be good for me to get a little break from it but I just enjoy it so much.

Anyway, blogging will be back to normal some time next week and the usual blog posts will be back along with a few extras. As we will be in our own place I can finally do grocery shop posts and recipe posts. Even though we've been getting our own food shopping here, it's a bit impossible to just start taking pictures and we just don't have the time to cook new things so I am really excited to do that this week and upload some new ones for you!

I am happy to say we finally found somewhere to live, it's a lovely 2 bed flat with a big living room and a kitchen with way more cupboards than our old place had! So boring but so exciting for us. Also it has a bath! Our old place only had a shower and I don't think I can put into words how excited I am to be able to have baths when I want and I now have an excuse to buy loads of lush things! We can't wait to get into a place of our own again and actually have privacy and just relax and do what we want. It seems like ages since we moved, I don't think either of us could have lasted much longer, we were supposed to move last Saturday but there's some work been done on it so hopefully it will look good this Thursday when we get there! I am so excited to decorate it for christmas and add so many homely things just all over the place to really make it feel like ours. I have been so excited to decorate this place just because it has more than one room and is somewhere we will probably stay for a while.

Also, we haven't started on any wedding planning yet but I really want to as soon as christmas is out of the way!

My Dream Wedding #5

So I have finally managed to get round to writing this post. I did intend to do this one a few weeks ago but I have had so many other posts I have wanted to do first and now it has come round to doing this one I feel like it needs to be changed as my circumstances have changed! I have mentioned it enough times now and I am sure you are sick of reading about it but I am now engaged which makes me even more happy that I did my previous posts on my dream wedding. Now it is only even more real and I can start to hopefully put some of those plans into action.
My favourite pictures!
When I first starting doing my dream wedding blog posts I said that the last one, #5 would just explaining why I wanted to get married and what being married would mean to me. It all seemed simple in my head and I know what I want to put but when it comes to writing it all down I can't seem to find the right words!

Marriage is a huge commitment and part of me does feel a bit strange being ready to make that commitment at a yound age but I really don't think it matters what age you are. When you decide to marry someone, you are deciding that they are going to be the person you spend the rest of your life with, the person you'll have children with and the person who will be with you to share any good and bad times. You know when you have found that person.

I have always been somebody who has felt 10 years older than my actual age. When I was young I was thinking about getting married and having babies, so when I was about 10, in my head I was seriously like a 20 year old, and now I feel like I should be in my thirties. I think this is partly just my personality and also I have had to grow up over the last few years. During our relationship a lot of things have happened and we had no choice but to grow up quickly and deal with things. We have to look after and care for people and make decisions that we shouldn't have to make about so many things. We've lived in different places, we have moved a few times over the last year and that is something that already feels like it has added years onto our relationship. There are just so many factors which make us feel a lot older than we actually are and added to that, we are just one of those typically romantic couples who just can't wait for all the exciting things we have to come. We feel like we are ready for this, we really are. If our circumstances had been different I think we probably would have been engaged a lot sooner, but I am glad it happened the way it did because it was just perfect. We are 100% sure this is forever, I know you can't predict what will happen in the future and it sounds soppy but you really do just know when you've found the one. That is the reason I want to get married. I want to take Georges last name and officially be Mr and Mrs and just spend the rest of my life with him.

There is no bigger commitment and I am more ready for it. In a few years time I will be a wife and have a different surname, I will be part of this new family, our new family and I just can't wait. I have always wanted this and to know it is going to happen is the most exciting thing.

The Fault In Our Stars Review..

The Fault In Our Stars (2014)

Main Cast:
Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Nat Wolff.

Hazel Grace, has thyroid cancer and has been forced to a support group by her mum, in the hope she will make some friends. This is where she meets Augustus who has battled Osteosarcoma. They form a friendship and through the struggles they face together, they fall in love.
If you haven't seen this film and don't want to know anything about it, stop reading!

My Review:
This film made me cry like a baby. I'm sure most people who have seen this will admit to that. I found myself holding it in for most of the film but by the end I was a mess. You know as soon as they meet at the support group that they are obviously going to get together and then its likely something bad will happen. This does happen but not for a while, they are friends for a long time and I was willing for them to get together from the beginning! It is so nice to see when they finally become a couple! Though as you know something bad it going to happen, the happiness it short lived. I liked that this film showed them going through things together and how they dealt with it as a couple. It was actually heartbreaking and i'm not exaggerating, you just want them both to get better so they can be together properly! With this film it also showed the effects on both families, we got to see an insight into how Hazels family feels with her condition and diagnosis and that was just as sad to watch, you can't even imagine it. Even though this film was seriously sad, the ending in a way wasn't. The eulogy Augustus wrote, that Hazel read at the end, was funny and made you smile. As sad as this fim is, you can't help but but laugh a lot throughout and at the end i think it makes you reflect a bit on your own life and think about what you have. If you haven't seen this I definitely recommend you do, it is out now on dvd and even though it is a film that makes you cry, it is worth it.

Have you seen this film? If so, what did you think and did it make you cry?

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water First Impressions...

The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is something that I see over and over again on peoples blogs and also on youtube, it only seems to grow in popularity. It was a few months ago now that I really noticed people talking about it and I thought it was worth a try as I was due a new makeup remover. It is seen as a dupe to Bioderma which I haven't tried but they do the same thing and they look very similar.
This micellar water is supposed to cleanse, remove makeup and soothe your skin in one simple step. I've been using this to remove my makeup for a few weeks now and I've been impressed so far at how easily it does that. I sometimes only need 1 cotton pad depending on how much makeup I have on, my skin instantly feels nice and clean aswell as refreshed. I also use it sometimes in a morning to really refresh my skin and wake me up. I've noticed in the last few weeks how much clearer my skin has been and I think thats down to this. I suffer with spots quite a lot but this seems to have been keeping them at bay, and obviously getting rid of any bacteria and dirt that has been building up.

So far I'm really impressed and can see why people rave about this product. Aswell as making my skin nice and clean, I also just love the bottle. I like it's simple packaging and also it's a decent price for the huge bottle. 400ml which is around 200 uses. At the moment it is £4.99 in Boots but when I bought it, it was on offer for less then £3, Boots always have great offers on but even so a fiver isn't too bad for a cleanser that will last you a good while. I'm sure I'll do another post on this in the future as I can see it will be one I use over and over, I can't see myself buying another makeup remover for a while.

Have you tried the Micellar Water?

What I Actually Want For Christmas...

I have done a few homeware wishlist posts recently but I haven't done an actual post on any other things I would actually like for Christmas. There are quite a few things, I did give George quite a long list! But I am looking forward to seeing what there is that I haven't suggested, I love the element of surprise with presents!
Even though we aren't likely to get married for a few years, we can still get planning, it's strange because before we were engaged we had ideas anyway but now it all feels much more definite and I really want to start making proper plans, I love this Wedding Planner from Hobbycraft, it is a bit jokey and not as formal as others but I just really like it. The Winnie the Pooh mug is so cute! I seem to have a bit of an obsession with winnie the pooh things all of a sudden, I want mugs, pyjamas and just today I saw some slippers too! I love collecting mugs and I want loads of different ones, I have never had one from the Disney store either and it's a really good price. For the last few years now at Christmas I've got some sort of recipe book from at least one person and hopefully I'll get one again this year from somebody, I have too many already but I cook almost everyday and I want to get back into baking a few times a week when we move. Paul Hollywood has a few books out and I would be happy with any, this one caught my eye though as it has a few basic recipes in and I want to get really good at certain things before I move onto more complicated things! I really would be happy with any book though. The Soap and Glory Ultimelt is a random thing I saw a few weeks ago online. I have been wanting a hot cloth cleanser for ages, it might sort my skin out a little bit. I had a Liz Earl one a while ago but never got round to repurchasing it and this one has quite good reviews. Is anyone else obsessed with One Directions new album? I have heard quite a few of the songs online already and I am desperate to get it, the songs I have heard have been replayed so many times and I think the same will happen with the rest if I get it. I think it is their best yet. Who doesn't love a Yankee Candle? I buy candles way too much, I have so many! I know I don't need anymore but the Fireside Treats is one I have been wanting for ages. I love the picture on the front of it too, just perfect for Christmas.
The Other Woman is one of the best films I have watched, I laughed so much through this and it was a real girl power film! I even did a review of it on my blog I loved it so much, you can read that here. I know if I had this on DVD it would be one I would watch loads, like Bridesmaids, I never get bored of that film and this is one of those films that can be watched so many times and still be funny. Another film I would love to get is Begin Again. I really wanted to see this in the cinema and we never got round to it but I know it is one I will love. It has Adam Levine in it, do I need to say much more? That man. Next, as much as I love cooking and baking I have never made a pie. I have always wanted to and just never been brave enough to do it, I have the time on my hands I just don't have the space, the ingredients, there's always a problem as to why I can't but I saw this set from Next and thought it was perfect. You get a ceramic dish, herbs, a blackbird funnel and a recipe card. Lush had to featured on my Christmas list. I could shop there everyday and still find something I haven't yet tried. I ran out of Snow Fairy last week and I am missing it already, I hate that it is only out at Christmas time but then it is nice to look forward to it every year aswell! The Butterbear is so cute and I think that has been my favourite Christmas product this year, it just looks adorable. I want to stock up on these before they go away again for another year.

The final thing is so random and probably impossible to get but it is The Greatest Store In The World DVD. Does anybody else remember this? It is a really old film and I remember watching it year after year on tv when I was little and for ages now I have been trying to remember the name of it so I could watch it! I know its probably hard to find, it would be great if its on at some point this Christmas. I'm sure it might have been on some channel either last year or the year before, most old Christmas films are shown so hopefully this will be one of them!

What are you hoping for this christmas?

Charm and Gumption Wishlist...

I have found a new site and I am in love. I want everything.

Last week I found the site Charm and Gumption, I had no idea what it was but now I am obsessed. It is an Etsy type site, you can actually get a few of these on Etsy as the actual site is american and I'm not sure what the costs would be and the situation with shipping but I am just so in love with this site that I don't think I even care. They sell prints, mugs, t-shirts and a few other things all with quirky quotes and sayings. If anyone knows of a UK version or a site similar to this please let me know because it's just amazing.
Like A Boss Notepad, My Favourite Position is CEO Mug, Be Brave Print, Bloggers Gonna Blog Print, What Would Beyonce Do Mug, Like A Boss Mug.

I would love the Bloggers Gonna Blog Print. I would put it in a plain frame, on a shelf in our spare room/office above the computer. I think it would look so good!

Weekly Favourite #9

This weeks favourite is a new lip product of mine, I've been loving using this!
Image taken from Superdrug.
I picked this up on a bit of a whim a few weeks ago and I have been obsessed with it since! I had never even seen this before, I just had an urge to get something new for lips and this looked great. There were so many shades available of the balm but I went for 'Touch of Mauve' as it named on the Superdrug site but on the balm itself it is called 'Keep Mauving'.

It is the nicest shade and it is available in so many others too which I will definitely be getting my hands on soon! But it also feels amazing. It goes on so well and even though it does feel a little glossy, it doesn't look like you just have lip gloss on. It definitely looks more like a lipstick. Again I am rubbish at describing things! What I love about these is that they do stain the lip a little, they are supposed to last you a while and they really do! I could put this on at 12 and the colour would still be on my lips at 3 or 4 in the afternoon. I haven't got a bad word to say about this, it is great that you can apply it and not have to worry that you'll be reapplying it all day.

The last thing I noticed about this balm was how amazing it smells! It has a vanilla scent and you can really notice this when it is on your lips. It definitely isn't overbearing though and it is just a really pleasant scent which is unusual! As I mentioned these balms come in a variety of shades so everyone would be sure to find one perfect for them. I chose this colour as it was the one that I thought would go with my usual everyday makeup, it just complements everything else I am wearing at the time. I definitely want to get some more of these, I can honestly see myself wearing every shade! It isn't often I find a product and want to get it in every colour!

This is one of my favourite products from Rimmel and they are in Superdrug for £5.99 and I think the majority of the time cosmetics are on 3 for 2 in store and online!

Simple Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

I last made these cookies a good few months ago now but I think I need to make more soon as they were so good, I really wanted to share the recipe as it is so simple and you don't need too many ingredients. When I first made these I actually left two main ingredients out but I think they turned out even better! So these actually have no eggs or vanilla extract. I thought that by leaving these out they would be awful but they were so nice, they were definitely a bit more chewy and crispy but still soft in the middle.
125g butter, softened
100g light brown soft sugar
125g caster sugar
225g self raising flour
1/2 tsp salt
200g chocolate chips or a bar broken into small pieces. You can add any type of chocolate, I think they would be nice with a mix of milk and white!

If you did want to add the original ingredients you can also add 1 egg, beaten and a tsp of vanilla essence.

1. Pre heat oven to 180 degrees
2. Cream butter and sugars together until they form a smooth mixture. This would be when you add the vanilla and the egg but obviously I missed that out
3. Sift in the flour and the salt and fold until combined
4. Add the chocolate chips and stir
5. Roll into walnut size balls and place on a prepared baking tray
6. Bake for 10 minutes and leave to cool on a wire rack

Let me know if you give this recipe a go, with or without the eggs!

Degustabox - November...

Firstly, I was so happy to receive my Degustabox earlier than normal this month! It was nice little surprise to see this at the door one morning, it is normally around the 27th/28th it arrives but it was actually the 25th so a nice few days early! Degustabox is something I look forward to every single month so I was very happy. Aswell as the early delivery, again I was so impressed with the contents of this box. They really do just get better and better.

As I was so desperate to open the box I didn't get chance to take any pictures and a few of the products have now been opened so these pictures are from the Degustabox site.
The Pip Organic Juice was one of the first things we tried when we opened the box, we received two and we actually still have one left. The problem with not having our own place at the minute is that stuff really is just everywhere and gets forgotten about so I can't wait to move in, have loads of cupboards and actually get everything out the boxes and see what we have! I think the second one of these will have gone before then though, we got the Cloudy Apple flavour. How happy were we to see that they had included 5 Lindt Melting Moments!! This is Georges favourite chocolate so I was definitely more pleased for him than me, I do like it but it wouldn't be my first choice. These did go extremely quickly, they really do just melt in the mouth. I love the christmassy packaging too. Kents Kitchen Flavour Shots were included this month, I love getting things like this which are just so simple to use, we got the BBQ flavour and it will be perfect to add to chicken and make something a bit different! You can get them in 4 other flavours, hot and spicy, fajita, thai green and garlic and coriander. Last month Kents Kitchen meal kits were included and I got the Stir Fry kit which I have still yet to use! Always handy to have though. Cool Dawn Recovery Drinks aren't something I have seen before but they do look interesting. This is a herbal detox drink that help prevent and cure hangovers. I hardly ever drink so I can't see me needing these any time soon but again they are handy to have in and i'm sure a lot of people would find these useful.
The Montano Cider is probably something I will be opening this weekend, I really wasn't sure what it was at first, it only says on the back that it is a cider but it does look nice. It is a really big bottle too. I am so excited to try the Holy Cow Currys! There is only one picture on the Degstabox site so not both of the ones I received are featured, I got the Madras Chettinad and the Korma, both look so good and will be great for an easy but tasty tea one night! The last thing was a Branston Caramelised Onion Chutney. This was definitely not something we were going to eat so we have passed it over onto somebody who will.

With this months box there was definitely less products than previous boxes, or so it seems but it does seem like more expensive products were added so really you it doesn't matter, you still get your moneys worth every month. Degustabox never disappoints me, the only thing I could fault with this months was that there was no baking products included as there seems to have been something every month for a while now but I do already have loads of baking ingredients so maybe its a good thing!

#NextmasWishlist Competition...

My last post was a homeware wishlist featuring Next on my blog, but I saw minutes after posting that they are doing a competition for the Christmas period. Sorry you are getting two similar posts straight after each other but I had to get involved as the winners will receive something at random that they have included in the blog post, there are so many things I want so it would be lovely to be one of them. If you want to enter, the details are over on the Next Blogger Network.

The things I choose are all going to be homeware, with us moving I am looking for so many new things and Next seem to have loads! I'm sure you will see straight away that a lot of these things are either bronze, wooden or in that sort of style, it's the colours I am trying to go for this time!
I really want to get some new bedding when we move, there's nothing wrong with what we have at the moment, I just feel like we've had the others for a while and I think this Natural and Ginger Bed Set is so perfect. It looks so cosy! Perfect for winter. The Home Plaque is something I mentioned in my last Next post but it is exactly what I want! I already have a place where I could put it! Though I did see the Hammered Disc Plaque and thought that would look just as good, it is so different to anything we have had before too, I love it. Again I have a place ready for the Relax Tealight Block, how good would this be for the bathroom? I have missed baths so much and our new place actually has one! I no longer just have to have showers so I can't wait for relaxing baths at night with candles on. Staying with the colour theme, I really like this Glisten Rug for the living room
I need a new vase for the living room and this is something different to what I have had before, I love the Champagne Crackle effect and a huge bouquet of flowers would look great in this. The Domed Wall Clock is £25 and I think this a great price for a clock which looks like it costs so much more. I definitely want a new clock for the kitchen wall and this is the one! The Heart Knife Block is something we need. I would like a proper knife set and I think this is so cute. Probably a bit girly but it doesn't matter.
The last things I saw would both be for the living room, the Distressed Wood Collage Frame and the Lit Bell Heart Wreath. I love the heart wreath! It was in the Christmas section but I would keep it up all year round.

I would be so happy to win any of these things! I love them all and it was very hard to keep it to 10 items!

Next Homeware Wishlist...

With us hopefully moving into our new place in a few weeks I have obviously been looking for some new homeware items. We do already have loads of stuff but as it is all out of sight at the minute and packed away, its hard to know what we do and don't have so I think a lot of the stuff I want will have to wait until we already in and settled. As this place will be more of a home than our last place (this has more than 1 room so instantly better) and is somewhere we want to stay for a few years, I really want to make it feel like ours and add things that just make it feel nice and cosy. This is so important to me in the winter months, and its Christmas!!! I doubt we'll be able to have a big Christmas tree this year, we'll make do with our tiny one, but because of that there are other things I would like to get for that real Christmas feel. I have seen loads on Next recently, some of these are for the Christmas period and others are things I would like all year round.
I have been wanting something like these Red Berry Twigs for ages to go in the corner of the living room, I think they would go well in this Silver Crackle Vase. The Glitter House is also something I have been wanting for a while, I love that you just switch on the little lights in the house and it just instantly looks so pretty, perfect to light on cold dark nights! I would have this on at the same time as this Fragranced 3 wick candle. This will be good even when the candle has burnt down as it is one that can hold other tealights and come out every winter, I love the colour and design of it. I would put the Cosy Bunting in the bedroom just above the bed, I can imagine it now and think it would look so great.
Something that I would put on a shelf in the living room is the Red Xmas Tree, even though it is just a simple sign I think it stands out and you wouldn't need much else next to it, maybe just a candle or some pretty fairy lights. I would put the Luxury Fragranced Pot Pourri in a clear dish on the coffee table in the living room. I am already set on a having a nice dish full of pot pourri on the coffee table, it just fills the room with such a lovely scent and I think it looks nice too. I love the colours of this one. The Snowman Wreath would go on one of the main walls in the living room, again something to light the room up at night, I haven't seen anything like this before, I love how different it is to things I would normally get. The Home Plaques are perfect for me. This is something I would be drawn to in the shop, I don't know why, I just love having things up that really make the place feel like our own and again this would be in the living room. It is also the sort of colours we are going for. I really want to get some new photo frames for when we move to put all of our pictures in and the Rustic Collage Frame is great! This is so different to what we have now and I love that it has that christmassy touch to it but it is also one that can be kept us all year.
The Sentiment Plaque would go great with the rustic collage frame I have just mentioned. Again the colours are brilliant for this time of year, I also love the message on it. The Present Box is probably more for people who have kids but I just love it and want it for myself! How cute would it be to put all of our presents in their and just pull them out one by one. The last things I saw were these Red Heart Flutes. These would be really good for a class of wine or whatever you fancy, I like the heart design and I also really like the Red Berry Table Tree. I am not sure where this would go, maybe in the bedroom somewhere or the hallway but I think it is a little different to a normal Christmas tree and something that could come out every year.

Bingo - A game that helps you unwind and combat boredom...

In the bustling cities, life becomes stressful. Sometimes all you want to do is crash into your sofa and relax, but at the same time feel the need to socialize and a companion to talk to. Don't know about you folks but that's how I feel at times. So I found a great outlet to relax and socialize whilst having fun at the same time. Sometimes a cheeky natter and a hearty laughter make up for the built up stress inside us and forget about the everyday niggles. Trust me, you don't always need to fly around the world to find an escape. You can do the same thing at the comfort of your home, Wondering what I'm talking about? I'm alluding to online bingo.

Have you checked out any fun online bingo sites? If not yet, probability is you are yet to experience the delights of the game. Unlike the brick and mortar bingo halls, you can play online bingo around the clock whenever you fancy. Best thing about the game is, anyone can master the game within a matter of few seconds. It's not a game of skill, but purely of luck. Register at a good online site, select the game you want to play and you're on your merry way! In fact, online bingo is so easy that you just need to select your bingo cards and the software daubs the numbers automatically for you whilst you chat wit your bingo buddies. That's the best thing about bingo. You enjoy the banter in the room, make new friends and and if Lady Luck is generous, even win a few quid.

When I say win, you don't get clamour and pats on back, but also win without spending a quid. Yes. That's right. There are sites like New Look Bingo* that pays you just to join the site. Also there are free games to get involved in. Hallelujah! Could it be any better? Entertainment and a chance to win a few quid or perhaps even a massive jackpot!

So stop feeling miserable about your life. Get down to a bingo site and meet some people out there. After all there should be an outlet to ease you off the stressful life. Nobody knows how fun playing bingo online can be unless you give it a shot yourself! Try playing at a fun bingo site, and I promise you won't regret a bit!

Small Haul - Lush, Superdrug and Selfridges

I wanted to share with you a few things I bought while we were in Manchester at the weekend. There are a few other things but they are peoples presents so I don't want to include them just in case anyone sees! This weekend wasn't really about buying things though, since George has started work it feels like we hardly get any time together and when we do it goes so fast! We just wanted to spend some proper time together enjoying ourselves, feeling festive and it turned out to be the best weekend ever, I really don't think anything will be able to top it for a long time, I feel emotional when I think that it is almost week since we were there and got engaged! It sounds stupid but its unreal at how fast it went. I wish I could just relive it.
Lush, Selfridges, Barry M, Primark
On to what I bought, I finally finished my bottle of Nails Inc black nail polish so I was desperate for some more. I know black isn't the most exciting colour but its one that I think always looks good and I do have it on either my fingers or toes every few weeks. I have a few Barry M nail polishes and I have always liked them and as they were on 3 for 2 I thought I would pick up a few of theirs. Aswell as the black, which is actually called 'Espresso', I also got 'Mustard' and 'Coconut'. I have the mustard shade on my nails right now and I love it! It is perfect for winter and I really wanted to try the Coconut shade as I had seen so many people with it on recently and it looks great.

The Lindt Bear set was from Selfridges and we also got something else from Lindt which was quite similar, they are both presents for people even though George absolutely loves Lindt! I think its so cute and it was about £5 which I think isn't too bad. Also in Selfridges, I got a personalised Nutella Jar! I had seen on somebody's YouTube video a while ago that Selfridges did this but I wasn't sure if they would in the Manchester one, just because that would be typical when I wanted one! But they did! It was cheaper than I expected too, it was £3.99 which I thought was good as I was expecting them to be well over a fiver. We also got a few others made too again for presents, who doesn't love Nutella?

Obviously I had to go into Lush, it is one of my favourite shops anyway but around Christmas time it only gets better! I love the Christmas range, there were so many things to choose from, it was so difficult! I did get a bit stressed out as it was so busy and I don't do very well in crowded places but I still managed to pick up a few bits. I bought the Butterbear which just looks adorable, I don't want to use it because its so cute! I also got the Christmas Hedgehog which again is so cute. I had my eye on both of these as soon as the Christmas products were out so I was very glad to pick those up. Aswell as these two I also got the Blackberry Bath Bomb. This wasn't a Christmas one but it smelt amazing! It wasn't one I had tried before but now it is one of my favourites. I used it in the bath in the hotel and it was the most relaxing bath and so colourful!

On the Sunday we went round the city on the way to the station and I popped into Primark as I was looking for some Christmas bedding. I didn't end up getting any but I did find a few things. Not exactly exciting but we have been needing a new laundry bin for our new place. I thought this was just really pretty and will do until we can get a really nice wooden one or something a bit better. I also picked up a few candles as the little jar ones from Primark are so nice and they are now only 80p! They actually had loads to choose from so it took me a while! I got the Blackcurrant and Orchid and the Sweet Pineapple and Ginger which is my absolute favourite!

I don't even know how I managed to make this such a long blog post when I didn't even buy much! I just had the best time and want to share it all on here, even if people aren't interested it will be good for me to have it all down and look back on one day!

Have you visited Manchester at Christmas?
