Small Haul - Lush, Superdrug and Selfridges

I wanted to share with you a few things I bought while we were in Manchester at the weekend. There are a few other things but they are peoples presents so I don't want to include them just in case anyone sees! This weekend wasn't really about buying things though, since George has started work it feels like we hardly get any time together and when we do it goes so fast! We just wanted to spend some proper time together enjoying ourselves, feeling festive and it turned out to be the best weekend ever, I really don't think anything will be able to top it for a long time, I feel emotional when I think that it is almost week since we were there and got engaged! It sounds stupid but its unreal at how fast it went. I wish I could just relive it.
Lush, Selfridges, Barry M, Primark
On to what I bought, I finally finished my bottle of Nails Inc black nail polish so I was desperate for some more. I know black isn't the most exciting colour but its one that I think always looks good and I do have it on either my fingers or toes every few weeks. I have a few Barry M nail polishes and I have always liked them and as they were on 3 for 2 I thought I would pick up a few of theirs. Aswell as the black, which is actually called 'Espresso', I also got 'Mustard' and 'Coconut'. I have the mustard shade on my nails right now and I love it! It is perfect for winter and I really wanted to try the Coconut shade as I had seen so many people with it on recently and it looks great.

The Lindt Bear set was from Selfridges and we also got something else from Lindt which was quite similar, they are both presents for people even though George absolutely loves Lindt! I think its so cute and it was about £5 which I think isn't too bad. Also in Selfridges, I got a personalised Nutella Jar! I had seen on somebody's YouTube video a while ago that Selfridges did this but I wasn't sure if they would in the Manchester one, just because that would be typical when I wanted one! But they did! It was cheaper than I expected too, it was £3.99 which I thought was good as I was expecting them to be well over a fiver. We also got a few others made too again for presents, who doesn't love Nutella?

Obviously I had to go into Lush, it is one of my favourite shops anyway but around Christmas time it only gets better! I love the Christmas range, there were so many things to choose from, it was so difficult! I did get a bit stressed out as it was so busy and I don't do very well in crowded places but I still managed to pick up a few bits. I bought the Butterbear which just looks adorable, I don't want to use it because its so cute! I also got the Christmas Hedgehog which again is so cute. I had my eye on both of these as soon as the Christmas products were out so I was very glad to pick those up. Aswell as these two I also got the Blackberry Bath Bomb. This wasn't a Christmas one but it smelt amazing! It wasn't one I had tried before but now it is one of my favourites. I used it in the bath in the hotel and it was the most relaxing bath and so colourful!

On the Sunday we went round the city on the way to the station and I popped into Primark as I was looking for some Christmas bedding. I didn't end up getting any but I did find a few things. Not exactly exciting but we have been needing a new laundry bin for our new place. I thought this was just really pretty and will do until we can get a really nice wooden one or something a bit better. I also picked up a few candles as the little jar ones from Primark are so nice and they are now only 80p! They actually had loads to choose from so it took me a while! I got the Blackcurrant and Orchid and the Sweet Pineapple and Ginger which is my absolute favourite!

I don't even know how I managed to make this such a long blog post when I didn't even buy much! I just had the best time and want to share it all on here, even if people aren't interested it will be good for me to have it all down and look back on one day!

Have you visited Manchester at Christmas?

Manchester Christmas Market and The Trafford Centre

I have so many pictures of our first weekend away to Manchester and I was desperate to share them with you just because it was really the best weekend ever. On Friday night we headed to Manchester for 2 nights, our first time away together and I was completely unaware that George was planning on proposing at this point. At the time I just was excited anyway for a proper weekend away, I literally had no idea what he was planning.

On the Saturday we started the weekend by a trip to The Trafford Centre and spent a little bit of money! I will do a separate post showing you the things I bought, I still haven't taken any pictures of it all yet but it was lovely to do a bit of shopping! The first place we went was Pancake Express. We went here last time we visited and it is just as good. We went for The Club which has chicken, bacon and cheese in and it was amazing. I definitely prefer savoury pancakes over sweet, I am not sure I could recreate this at home but it was so good that I would definitely give it a try. After this we went to Selfridge's and bought some personalised Nutella jars! I now have one with my name on it and we also bought a few as presents. Definitely something different and really not that expensive. We bought lots of nice food and nice presents for people aswell for Christmas and I just hope people love them as much as I do. I just can't wait to get everything out and have a proper look at what we got. I couldn't possibly name all the shops we went in, there was just too many.
The Trafford Centre, Premier Inn, Shopping
The Trafford Centre and the hotel, sorry my pictures aren't great!
After the Trafford Centre, we made our way back to the hotel to chill for a few hours. Just before we were about to leave for the Christmas market, this is where he proposed! He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was saying yes in my head but it took a few seconds for the words to come out so I think he was a bit worried but like I was ever going to say no. It was just perfect, he said some very nice things and made me feel very special and I can honestly say I am the happiest girl in the world. I don't think I have ever smiled as much as this, I seem to just find myself thinking about it and smiling to myself! I don't think it has sunk in properly. I can't wait to get started on planning the wedding, even though it probably won't be for a few years, I am desperate to get myself a wedding planning diary of some sort and start putting ideas down.

Obviously nothing could have made the day any better, but the Christmas Market was pretty amazing. It was massive, there were so many stalls, German ones, Italian, French, just so many different types selling all sorts of things. As it was so busy we didn't get to buy much but it didn't even matter. We did get some pretty amazing chocolate cakes though. I just loved been there and it was definitely a place we'll go again in the future, to experience it on the opening weekend was amazing, it's definitely got me excited for Christmas!
Manchester Christmas Market
The Christmas Market.
On the Sunday we went shopping round the city centre and went to Caffe Nero for some food, it was actually the first time we had been there for some reason but it was so nice. We ended up back home about 4ish, definitely straight back to reality but there is no other word to describe this weekend other than amazing! We will definitely be going back in the future and now we have even more reason as we got engaged there! I am now officially a fiancĂ©e! So exciting.
Caffe Nero.
I just thought I'd mention we were staying at the Premier Inn Portland Street and even though some people may look down on premier inns and think they aren't necessarily fancy hotels, you need to go to this one! It had just been renovated so we were in a new room which had just been done up, it was not what I was expecting. We had a huge bed, a flat screen TV on the wall opposite us, that was also huge, a sofa and a lovely bathroom with an amazing bath, I used one of my lush bath bombs too and it was so good. There was plenty of space in the bathroom for toiletries, a wardrobe, a fancy hair-dryer and mirror. I know this might sound boring that I am describing the hotel room but it was just so much better than we expected. I thoroughly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Manchester in the future.

Overall it was just the BEST weekend and I still can't believe what happened.

I'm Engaged!!!

I don't even know how to start this blog post in any other way, but I am engaged! I can't put into words how happy I am, it has honestly been the best weekend.
I will do a separate post about the Christmas market in Manchester and the Trafford Centre showing what we bought over the next few days. I just couldn't wait to do a post to tell you all! It was very romantic and everything that I had hoped and more. We are both so happy, I don't even feel like it's real yet! I just can't stop looking at my hand, the ring is beautiful.

Rimmel Wonder'full Mascara...

I know quite a few people have been raving about this mascara for a while now and rightly so, I absolutely love it so thought it deserved a proper review on my blog. I bought this mascara just over a month ago now as I really wanted something different and thought this one looked perfect. I had seen the Rimmel adverts for it and also had seen positive things about it on a lot of peoples blogs, I kind of knew it was going to be good.
The thing that attracted me to this mascara the most is that it is made with Argan oil. This ingredient is in a lot of products now and I always hear great things about it but I did wonder what it could do a mascara and how it would benefit you. It states that it will leave your lashes feeling soft and conditioned, I agree that my lashes do feel soft and they definitely don't feel weighed down or heavy, with some mascaras you can really feel that you have something on your eyelashes and you notice it all day. With this you don't have that feeling that you have layers and layers of product on your lashes. To be honest, you don't need layers of this anyway.Though it does have a clump free formula meaning you can apply more layers if you want too and your lashes won't stick together. I love this about it, I like to have really defined lashes and you can get that with this mascara. I already have quite long lashes but I do feel like this only extends them even more! The ultra flex brush has super soft bristles so it just glides on, there is no heavy brush covered in product. I find it a lot harder to apply mascara well and clump free with a really thick brush so this one was perfect.

Aswell as all of this I also love the packaging! I haven't seen a mascara with this sort of copper/bronze tube, not that I can recall. It looks different to any mascara I have had before and I like that it is quite simple, you don't really need all the fancy packaging anyway!

Have you tried this mascara? If so, what do you think?

Our 3 Year Anniversary...

Today is mine and Georges 3 year anniversary!

I can't believe it has been 3 years already, it has been the best and I couldn't imagine life without him now and hope I never have too. I love love love living with him, no matter how messy he is! I know I don't say thank you to him enough for all he does for me but I really am grateful, he is just my world. I cant wait to marry him and have babies, he will be the best dad and husband and I cant wait to experience all of these things together.
I just thought I would do a little post of appreciation for him. He's the best.

Chicken Schnitzel and Homemade Chips

I was watching This Morning last week and I saw this recipe made by Phil Vickery for Chicken Schnitzel and thought it looked so good so I really wanted to try and recreate it myself.  I tried it last night and luckily it went really well! It was quick and easy to make and ended up tasting delicious so I had to do a recipe post for it.
This recipe is for 4 people but you can adapt it as you go on if you need too, we halved the amount as there is only two of us.

Ingredients:
4 chicken thighs, no skin or bone (we used chicken breast fillets though)
4 tbsp plain flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 packet of Paxo Stuffing Mix
2 tbsp oil
4 tbsp butter

Method:
1. Put the chicken thighs or fillets in between a large piece of cling film, add a little water and beat out until thin
2. Coat each piece of chicken in flour, then egg then stuffing mix. Make sure they are all covered in the mix
3. Fry in oil and butter until cooked through and nicely browned. You can bake in the oven if you want too instead of frying, about 190 degrees for 25 minutes
4. Serve with whatever you like, I made some Homemade chips and salad

To make the chips, I washed some Sainsburys basic salad potatoes and peeled them. I then cut them into wedges and coated them in salt, pepper and some OXO Garlic and Herb Seasoning. I baked them in the oven for about 30 minutes.
We both absolutely loved this and I already can't wait to make it again!

Do you have any easy meal ideas?

Malteser Cake Recipe!

This is a recipe which is from Jo Wheatley, the series 2 winner of the Great British Bake Off. I absolutely love her recipes and have both her books. This cake is a favourite of mine and I have made it so many times. It is from her first book A Passion For Baking. I have made this a lot at George's dads and I think I might have actually only made it once in the flat, if at all!
Here are the ingredients and the method. I have adapted them to suit me as can you.

Ingredients:
225g unsalted butter, softened
225g sugar
4 large eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla extract
200g self raising flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
30g cocoa
2 tbsp full fat milk
100g of dark chocolate, melted. I don't always add this and it turns out exactly the same

Ganache:
200g dark chocolate
100g milk chocolate
250ml double cream

Topping:
Maltesers or any other sort of chocolate/sweets. I've used galaxy counters and minstrels before

Method - Cake.
1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees.
2. You can use a mixer or just your hands! In a bowl cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add beaten eggs and vanilla extract.
3. Add flour, bicarbonate of soda, baking powder, cocoa and milk. I sometimes need to add a little bit more milk when I am mixing.
4. Mix until combined then add the melted chocolate.
5. Divide between two prepared cake tins. They need to be greased or lined with baking paper.
6. Bake in a pre-heated oven for about 25 minutes or until a skewer comes away clean.
7. Leave the cakes to cool on a wire rack.

Method - Ganache.
1. Finely chop the dark and milk chocolate and add to a saucepan with the double cream. Leave over a low heat to melt and stir until smooth.
2. Pour ganache into a dish, leave to cool then chill in the fridge.
3. To assemble the cake, spread half the ganache onto one layer of the cake and then add the next layer.
4. The middle and top of the cake should be filled and covered with ganache, you can now add sweets and chocolate!
I didn't get the best pictures of this I know but it tasted too good to not blog about!

Hi! I'm Tiffany and welcome to my blog!Welcome to my blog

I'm so excited to have finally started a blog, I've been wanting to do this for a while but I've only just found the courage to do so. I decided to start a blog so I can talk about all the things I love and hopefully get to know some other bloggers!

But they'll be so many other things too. Hopefully some beauty reviews - showing you some of my favourites, film posts, monthly favourites, wishlists. I'm just going to go for it, see what happens and write about anything I want.

I would love to get to know some other bloggers so feel free to leave links to your blog.
