The Best Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe

Today's recipe is for cookies, but not just any cookies, it's peanut butter cookies! How many times can I say cookies in a sentence?! These are one of the best things I've ever baked and I don't say that lightly. I love making cookies but it can be hard to get them right sometimes, luckily these just worked so I had to share the recipe. I'm not usually a huge fan of peanut butter but for some reason with these, I can just keeping eating one after the other!
50g soft light brown sugar
50g caster sugar
50g of unsalted butter
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla essence
200g of peanut butter
100g plain flour
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
A pinch of salt

1. Preheat oven to 170 degrees
2. Cream the butter and sugars together until smooth
3. Add in the egg, vanilla and peanut butter. Blend until smooth
4. Add in the flour, bicarbonate of sofa and salt and mix
5. Form into balls and place on a baking tray
6. I then pressed down with a fork and baked them for about 10 minutes so they were soft in the middle but a little crunchy on the outside
Let me know if anyone of you give these a go, they are so good and such a favourite of mine now.

A Late Valentines Trip To London

On Monday we went to London for a late valentines trip for 2 nights and we had the best time. We took so many pictures, did all the tourist things, ate so much nice food and did lots of sightseeing. Unfortunately we didn't get to see Buckingham Palace, but I think we managed just about every other place so I thought I'd share some of the photos. I already know I'm going to love looking back over this in future.
I don't know if this statue has a name but George saw this and wanted to take a picture! Also Houses of Parliament and Big Ben!
Our hotel, County Hall Premier Inn was next to the London Eye, we could see it from our hotel room. We were right in the centre and as we were so close to the London Eye, if we got lost we could look for that and could work our way back which was helpful. That did happen a few times! Just round the corner from the London Eye was the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, its unreal that we were so close to everything, I managed to get some pretty good pictures too on my new camera. Other places we visited were Downing Street, Oxford Street, Regent Street, Covent Garden, Hyde Park and Piccadilly. I think I have covered everything but I'm sure they'll be more to see in future. We did really want to go to Buckingham Palace and we were actually on our way there on Tuesday after Oxford Street but my feet couldn't take anymore. I honestly though I was going to collapse because I was in so much pain. Dramatic I know. I don't do well with my feet and wearing pumps and walking around London just don't go together well. I did get some nice new boots from Next which I wore too and they were a lot comfier. I got the Tan Zip Detail Western Boots and I love them! Luckily we had a nice comfy bed to get back to in the hotel so we could relax a little after all the walking, I slept so well, I really struggled to get up each morning because I was so warm and cosy!
London Eye, Pizza Hut, Selfridges, Garfunkels.
George definitely spoiled me in London. I got some new makeup from Superdrug that I had been wanting for ages and some new nail polishes. So many bath bombs from Lush, my favourite shop!
The boots I've mentioned, some clothes, books, i'm struggling to remember now as I'm writing this before I unpack it all! I finally managed to get my hand on a tangle teaser too! Oh my god, I wish I had got one of these sooner, I struggle so much with getting a brush through my hair and this just works. Now my hair has been cut quite a bit shorter than what it was, it was getting easier but with this I don't have to struggle at all. I really recommend it. George did get some nice things too while we were there, he basically got a whole new outfit and looked very very nice. We actually managed to take a few selfies while we were in London, I hate having my picture taken so this was kind of a big thing for me but I was brave and just went for it. I love having new pictures of us, I think we'll definitely both remember London and what a good time we had. Hopefully we'll get to go again soon!
London Eye, you can just see our hotel next to it! A Selfie and Les Miserables.
Nelsons Column and another London Eye picture!
The Sherlock Holmes.
As I mentioned I did buy a few things so i'll do a separate post on that soon!

Do you love London? Whats your favourite thing to do there?

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer...

I bought this concealer about 3 weeks ago now and I am loving it. When I knew I needed a concealer I was going to for the Collection Lasting Perfection that every single person goes on about! But I couldn't find a shade which suited me and there selection wasn't great to be honest, the whole stand was a bit of a mess so that put me off. I really didn't know which other makeup brand to go for then I saw Maybelline had a few different shades of their Fit Me Concealer. This was one I hadn't heard of before so I literally had no idea if it was going to be good or not.
I got it in the shade 20 which is the perfect one for me. I love the texture of this, it is quite thin and creamy which makes it easy to blend in. I use the Real Techniques Pointed Foundation Brush at the moment to blend it in, sometimes I just use the tip of my finger too. With some concealers you can get a real cakey feel to it, like some foundations you know it is there, you can really feel it on your skin and I hate that. I like lightweight makeup which isn't weighing me down. This concealer doesn't crease either and I find it lasts me all day.

I got this from Superdrug for £5.99 which I think is really good. I can see me using this for a long time. Aswell as the concealer I also got the Maybelline Matte Maker Powder for £3.99 which I am also loving.

Have you tried this concealer? What did you think?

Update and Haul...

I wasn't really sure what to name this blog post and I don't really know where I am going with it! I wanted to do a little update and also show a few things I have bought recently, there wasn't really any other way to put them in a blog post apart from to do a bit of a random one. These are my favourite to do though, I love just writing and telling you all things!

I am still getting over Fifty Shades of Grey, if you haven't seen in and are putting it off because of the bad reviews, please go and see it! I am a hopeless romantic so I love a good love story and that is what this film is, I have just re read the book and I have just finished the second one. I read Fifty Shades Darker in about 3 days I think, I could have quite easily read it in one afternoon but if I had done that I would have got nothing done. The second book is so good, so much better than the first and I am waiting on the third one to be delivered so I can start that. I have a feeling the second one will be my favourite though, I am holding back from reading it again today, I am holding out til next Monday when we are on the train to London. We are going to London as a late valentines trip, I haven't been since I was a kid so I am really excited! We have two nights there so lots of sightseeing and shopping. After today I will try and get a blog post up this weekend but after that there might not be one until the middle of the next week.

We have such a busy week planned, I feel bad for George because he has booked a week off and we are out literally everyday. I have persuaded him to take me to see Fifty Shades of Grey again next Thursday. Yes I am that sad. I think he quite enjoyed the film though. Then next weekend Georges brothers are stopping so definitely no time to relax then! I am so happy George has a week off and we can spend some proper time together, I feel like I never see him!

On Sunday, we took a trip to Meadowhall and I bought some cute things from Paperchase. I never really think to go in there for some reason but I dragged George in. I found this lovely Recipe Book for £15. Which isn't cheap but for Paperchase I didn't think it was that bad. I have so many recipes of my own written down but I wanted them all in one place and this is so pretty. They had quite a few different styles too so if you are looking for anything like that definitely check them out.
A few other things I got were actually postcards. They had so many to choose from but I found these five. I'm planning on putting them up on the wall above the desk in our spare room once its done. I want it to be a proper little work/blogging area and I love any kind of quotes, I pin enough of them on Pinterest so I love that I have these to put up!
Also, how cute are these personalised coasters I got George for Valentines? I got them from Getting Personal, they had so many things I didn't know what to choose. Even though they are technically coasters we don't use them for that, they go well on the coffee table! Also he got me this lovely vase from Next and 4 different bunches of flowers! I have wanted one of these vases for ages and he found one!

Decorating the Bathroom...

After having only a shower in our old flat, it has been so good to move into somewhere with a bath! There was no way we were getting somewhere without one this time, I love nothing more than to get in the bath, watch some videos or netflix, with some magazines and just relax. That been said though, there are a few things that need doing and adding to the bathroom before it feels like it is done.

The first thing we need is some sort of Overdoor Hooks, we've actually got some but they're pink and I think metal ones would look better. We could do with these in the bathroom as they are somewhere to hang the towels and also dressings gowns. It would just make things look a lot tidier. Something I really want is a new Dispenser and Toothbrush Holder. Quite boring things I know but again they would make things lot a lot neater in the bathroom and it would then mean we have more space in the cabinet we have up on the wall. I keep debating whether we actually need these or not, sometimes I think we are fine without them and we are, they're definitely not urgent things to get but then I see nice ones like these and think they look so good.
Overdoor Hooks and Dispenser and Toothbrush Holder.
As I have so many Lush things e.g. bathbombs, shower gels, I really want a little basket at the side of the bath. This way I know where they all are and I can just pick things out when I want too. I love this set of 2 Paper Weave Baskets. The last things I really want is some new towels. Ours need replacing and I love the feel of new, soft towels. I think £20 for this 4 piece Cotton Towels is great! I have seen loads so much more expensive than that and probably not as good quality. I like them in the colour 'Chocolate' or 'Plum'.
Towels and Baskets.

I just want every room to be done now!

Valentines 2015 - Fifty Shades of Grey and Frankie and Bennys...

We had such a good valentines. It is our fourth which is just mental, and this been our first engaged just makes it even better. I love spending valentines with George and doing something really special every year.

As I knew Fifty Shades of Grey was coming out on valentines weekend I knew we had to go and see it! I'm not sure if George was as thrilled about it as me but he agreed! We booked the tickets a few months ago so we were guaranteed seats, I thought it would book up quite quickly. It was so good! I have read the first book but ages ago so I couldn't remember most of the story, I think everyone gets the jist of it anyway! I love Jamie Dornan. I think everyone who has read it has an idea of how Christian Grey should look and I would say he is the perfect match! So many people have been slagging the film off and I was worried about how it was going to be but I can honestly say it was amazing. It finished on a real cliff hanger so I can't wait to see the next one!
Before we went to the cinema we went for our meal at one of our favourites, Frankie and Bennys.
I had the Potato Skins to start, like I was going to go for anything else. George had the doughballs. Then George had the meatball calzone for main, I had the Chicken Philly Burger, so good! The cheese sauce was amazing! And for dessert we had the Peanut Butter Cheesecake, so much better than I expected!
I got so many nice presents from George this year, as I always do so I had to include those in this post.
I had no idea what I was getting and I was so happy to see the BOSS Orange perfume! He got me this for our first valentines 4 years ago and I haven't had it since so this was a really nice surprise. I also woke up to breakfast out ready this morning. I also got a gorgeous vase from next with flowers in but I forgot to take a picture!
What did you get up to this valentines?

Valentines Gift Guide For Him - Debenhams...

I was asked by the people over at Debenhams to create an outfit for my other half for their latest blogger competition, perfect for Valentines day! This didn't just have to include clothing so I've gone for a real mix!

Below is the outfit I have chosen and a few extra things I think he would like to get on valentines! I went for this particular outfit because it is similar to what he already wears and likes and it really does suit him. The Diesel aftershave is something I got him for our first christmas together in 2011! So I would love to get him this again and he loves sweets so I had to include something like that, I think the hamper has a great selection and would be perfect for him! Ferrero Rochers are one of his favourites too so I think he would appreciate the giant one. The last thing I saw was a gift experience, this is a £50 voucher for a west end show. We've been wanting to see a show in London for ages so this would be a really great gift! Especially as we are going to London in only 2 weeks!
Dark red raglan t-shirt, Designer mid blue washed straight leg jeans, Chocolate brogue lace ups, The choc box, Diesel Only The Brave Gift Set, Giant Ferraro Rocher, Gift experience - west end show.

If you would like to get some of these things yourself then head over to the Debenhams site.

We booked the tickets like last month or something so I can't wait. What are you upto this Valentines?

I have no idea what George is getting me for valentines this year, its not really like a birthday or christmas so I don't want to ask for specific things! I like all the romantic, cute gifts. Speaking of gifts, I have seen quite a few valentines presents on a few sites and wanted to share them with you.
Personalised Love Spoons, Set of Four Personalised Coasters, Personalised Train Ticket Print.

Dettol Baby Blanket Donation*

Rachel Stevens has paired up with Dettol to set up the 'Baby Blanket Donation'. This is to help children who are in need of a clean and safe environment. You may not know the dangers of bacteria on baby blankets, particularly during the winter months but it is a major issue and one that needs as much awareness as possible. Dettol are also aiming to raise awareness of the shortage of baby blankets available to infants born to families that are in need.
Every minute, around 50 babies are born into poverty and will experience conditions lacking basic essentials including hygienically clean blankets. Washed blankets donated by mums were put to the test and the results showed that the blankets even after a 40 degrees wash, still carry a variety of bacteria with a third of the blankets harboring coliforms. Dettol Anti-bacterial Laundry Cleanser kills 99.9% of bacteria so if you donate a blanket, it will be hygienically washed and redistributed to families in need ensuring that as little bacteria as possible is left on the blankets. Dettol have pledged to donate £1 for every blanket that is collected to a childrens medical research charity, Sparks. Sparks are dedicated to funding research into a range of conditions which affect babies, children and pregnant women. Their research covers a wide spectrum of medical conditions such as birth asphyxiation, childhood cancers, cerebral palsy and premature birth.

Rachel Stevens says 'The Baby Blanket Donation really resonated with me as a mum. I remember bringing my girls home for the first time in theirs and what a special time that was. Many babies across the world will never get the chance to experience the comfort of a warm, clean blanket. That's the reason why I'm supporting the campaign, asking mums to donate blankets to those in need so that those babies don't miss out. I've got all my mummy friends donating their blankets and i'm trying to get as many people involved as possible. Now i'm a mum I am even more aware of how much more washing there is to do. With Dettol Anti-Bacterial Laundry Cleanser I get to do loads of quick washses at low temperatures and know that things will be hygienically clean and germ free.'

To be part of this project, Dettol want you to #sharethememories by donating a blanket and sharing your own precious baby blanket memories on Twitter. It is so simple to do and something that will really make a difference.

For full details on how to donate, you can visit

* I was sent the Dettol Anti-Bacterial Laundry Cleanser as part of this campaign, I genuinely think this is an important campaign and one that needs as much awareness as possible

Chicken, Bacon & Pea Risotto Recipe

It's not often I make risotto and I don't know why, because I love it! I made it a few weeks ago so I thought I would blog about it and post the recipe for anyone wanting to give it a go!
Around 200g of risotto rice
A chicken stock cube
500ml of boiling water
Cooked chicken - I use about 2 chicken breasts
Cooked bacon, broken into small pieces, as much as you want
Frozen peas

1. Cook your chicken and bacon, break up into small pieces and set aside
2. Add rice to the pan and leave to fry for about a minute
3. I then added around 250ml of water and a chicken stock cube. Gave it a stir and left to simmer.
4. After about 15 minutes you will need to add more water, add the remaining 250ml and also add your chicken and bacon into the mix too
5. After another 15 minutes you can add your frozen peas, these will cook quickly so you won't need to boil them first. You can also add some salt and pepper too
6. When the peas are cooked and the rice is done, you can serve it up! I like to do ours with warm crusty bread!

This was super yummy, didn't take long to do and I already can't wait to make it again!

Real Techniques, Maybelline and Primark Haul...

I think its safe to say I got spoilt at Meadowhall a few days ago. We went to celebrate Georges birthday and somehow I ended up leaving with things I needed/wanted! I actually feel a bit bad. I did get some nice things though and to be fair, the beauty products were things I actually needed. We also got some things for the flat but you don't really want to hear me talk about overdoor hooks.

I recently started using my Buffing Brush from the core collection to apply my foundation, I had been using it for my powder but now I am never going back. Post on that coming soon though. Because of this I needed a new powder brush, Real Techniques were on buy one get the second half price so when I picked up the Powder Brush, I also got the Retractable Kabuki Brush. I have never used a Kabuki brush before and I was a bit unsure about buying it but I have started using it to apply my bronzer and it is good so far. I am always impressed with the Real Techniques brushes, I am starting to get a bit of a collection.
Aswell as the brushes I also needed a new concealer and powder. I dropped my powder last week so its in bits and impossible to use. I wanted to try a different brand out this time so I went for Maybelline and so far I have not been disappointed. Their Fit Me Concealer is amazing! I got it in the shade 20, there are 6 different shades available which I think is great because with some brands you only get a few to choose from. When we got in, I put some of this on under my eyes, around my nose and on any blemishes and it covered them so well, so much better than the one I was using. I'll do a full review of this in a few weeks. The powder I got was the Matte Maker in Classic Ivory. I loved this too, it sets my makeup and just feels nice, definitely doesn't feel heavy like some powders.
Have you tried any of these? I'd love to know what you think.

Thats everything for beauty, something I did get which was a bit of an impulse was a new onesie. I do have a cookie monster one which I love but George saw a Winnie The Pooh one in Primark and I loved it so I kind of had to get it. I got it about 4 sizes smaller than I actually am because thats all they had and it fits fine with extra room. It is so cosy, I could wear it all day.
We also went to Coal that day for a meal, as it was to celebrate Georges birthday, he chose where we went. Obviously we had to get a bread board, bread is my favourite thing, I said to George that I love bread more than people sometimes and it is true. For mains, I went for the Cornfed Chicken with Butter potatoes, carrots and cabbage. So good. George had the Chicken Eldorado which had mexican spiced potatoes, lime and fajita seasoning chicken and nachos.
It was such a nice day and a lovely way to celebrate Georges birthday!

My Ideal Pamper Night...

After a stressful day, sometimes you need some TLC and a bit of a pamper evening.

When I am feeling particularly stressed I like to have a nice relaxing bath with some Radox or maybe a Lush product. I either use the Radox Sleep Easy or the Radox Stress Relief. It usually depends on how bad the day has been! I really notice a difference when I use the Sleep Easy one, it genuinely makes me sleep better and I just have a better night, I feel all calm. For someone who struggles with having a normal sleep pattern, I really recommend the Radox products, for me they just seem to work. If I was to use a Lush product, at the moment it would have to be the Butterbear. It definitely isn't the most exciting bath bomb in regards to bubbles and colours but it makes your skin feel so soft and again just calms you down a little bit. It is also adorable too, when I go into Lush I just want to buy them all. Unfortunately now christmas is over I have to wait until next year and hope that they are back! I know they still do the original Butterball but the bear is too cute. When I am in the bath I like to light some candles and watch a bit of Youtube or Netflix. At the moment I am loving American Horror Story, currently on season 3 and hooked!
After my nice bath, I like to get into my cosy pyjamas and dressing gown. I just have some soft Primark pyjama bottoms and a standard black vest. Primark is the place to go for pyjamas. I then like to sit and paint my nails. As I mentioned in my Winter Nails post, I am loving the dark toned colours as it is still winter I think! I went for the Rimmel Kate Moss Rock n Roll. I love this colour and I find it stays on so well. I then added some red glitter nail polish on top, i'm not sure of the name or anything, all I know is that its from H&M. I think I picked it up ages ago.

When we first moved in, we were just spending our nights unpacking boxes but now we can actually sit and relax and watch the soaps which is my favourite thing to do. I was so behind on Eastenders and Coronation Street but I am definitely caught up now. While we are watching TV I like to light a few candles, I say a few, we have so many, I have actually ran out of room for them all!

So that's my ideal pamper night, a bubble bath and a cosy night in front of the tv! What do you like to do on a pamper night?
