Hoots Snacks Review*

Last week I was lucky enough to be sent a selection of snacks to try from the lovely people at Hoots Snacks.
Hoots Snacks are basically a healthier alternative to crisps and as I am a crisp fiend, I knew these would be perfect for me. Hoots are a mix of wholegrains and seeds which are baked not fried. They are a great source of fibre, suitable for vegetarians and vegans, and contain no nasty stuff. They have no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives aswell as no MSG and no nuts. Sometimes when you see all of that listed you can wonder what they're actually going to taste like but these honestly taste delicious.

I was sent a selection of flavours to try - Pickled Onion, Salt & Pepper, Cheese & Onion, Smoked Bacon and Salt & Vinegar.
As I've already said on my social media, these are basically a combination of my two favourite things - crisps and bread! Both I can eat copious amounts of so these are perfect for me.

What I Thought Of Each Flavour:

Pickled Onion - I very rarely have this flavour of crisps but it's really one of my favourites. These were just delicious, I couldn't believe how good they tasted. The flavour was subtle and not overpowering but a little tangy, so good! I think this would be the first flavour out of all of them that I'd pick up in a shop.

Smoked Bacon - Anything bacon related makes me happy and I knew I would like these. I don't really think you can go wrong with bacon flavoured food so I really enjoyed them. They reminded me of Frazzles and I can go through bags and bags of them, these were definitely a favourite.

Cheese & Onion - These were amazing! I love Cheese and Onion crisps and very rarely have them so these were a real treat. So cheesy and crunchy, I think these ones in particular would be so nice with some philadelphia on top.

Salt & Vinegar - These were one of the last I tried because Salt & Vinegar is one of my favourite flavours and I really wanted to keep these until last and properly savour them! I really liked these as they were quite strong. It's such a classic favour and one I would definitely have again in future.

Salt & Pepper - These were the last I tried and I really enjoyed them. With salt and pepper it can be quite hot but I really enjoy that about the flavour and I think these in particular would be lovely on top of tomato soup to give it a bit of a twist.

Overall, I enjoyed every single flavour and wouldn't hesitate to buy them in the future. They are all delicious just as they are, they are around 160 calories per bag and are perfect as a snack. However they can be enjoyed with a variety of other things. As I've already said I think these would be perfect on top of soup, or they would also be good topped with things like houmous, philadelphia, cucumber and cherry tomatoes.

I couldn't get enough of these and all of the bags went pretty quickly, my favourite flavour was Pickled Onion but they were all delicious! If you would like to try Hoots Snacks you can find a list of places they are available, on their website here.

Have you tried Hoots Snacks before?
