The Autumn Reading Tag

Autumn and reading - two of my favourite things at the moment! Because of my love for both of those things, I was incredibly excited to find this tag online a few weeks ago, it seemed absolutely perfect for my blog. Feel free to copy and paste the questions if you want to give this a go too, I'd love to read your answers.

Are there any books you plan on reading over the Autumn season?

So many! I recently ordered some that I'd had my eye on for a while and I'm nearly through them all already. I'm currently just about to start The Other Woman by Sandie Jones and then I think I'll read How To Be Happy by Eva Woods.

School memories: what subject did you most enjoy studying? and what was your least favourite subject?

In the last few years of school I thoroughly enjoyed history and geography. So many people thought it was weird choosing those subjects for GCSE but I had such an interest in them and always looked forward to the lessons. Even now I think if I went back into a geography class, I'd enjoy it just as much. I wish I'd done more with it afterwards. In the first few years of secondary school I absolutely loved cooking class too and looking back, I should have taken that as a GCSE I think because now I can't get enough of cooking and baking. My least favourites were always science and maths. I just couldn't get my head round either of them and I was glad to be done with them.

October means Halloween: Do you enjoy scary books and films? If so, which are some of your favourites?

I've not read any scary books that I can recall but I absolutely love a horror film. Some that genuinely scare me every time are the conjuring films, they're absolutely brilliant! I also watched Hereditary a few months ago and I'm still not over it. The scariest film I have ever watched, genuinely so uncomfortable yet I really recommend it if you haven't seen it.

With November, it's time for Bonfire Night and fireworks. What's the most exciting book you've ever read that really kept you gripped?

I've read some great books this year but a few that have really left me gripped for different reasons are The Husbands Secret, I just had no idea how that was going to end, The Sisters which I could not put down and had the biggest twist at the end, and also for very different reasons Five Years From Now. It broke my heart and within 24 hours I'd got through it because I was just hooked.

What book is your favourite cosy comfort read?

A cosy comfort read for me is anything with a love story. They just make me feel all warm and fuzzy and so content. One book that came to my head with this question was Some Kind of Wonderful by Giovanna Fletcher. I remember at the time I'd really fallen back in love with reading and I loved getting snuggled up on the sofa with a blanket and reading a few chapters.

Curled up with a good book, what is your hot drink of choice?

I love a good cup of tea. Not too much milk, 1 sugar, and a packet of biscuits obviously. A hot chocolate is always nice though when it's freezing outside, topped with cream and marshmallows.

Any plans you're looking forward to over the next month?

We've got a few trips to London planned which I'm incredibly excited for. We're away for a few nights next week and like last year as George will be working, we'll be taking the opportunity in the evenings to spend some quality time together and explore more of our favourite city. We're also going to see a show too which I'm just so excited for. We also have our wedding anniversary in December so we're going to see Hamilton - CAN'T WAIT. I've waited so long to see it and of course we can then visit Winter Wonderland too. Apart from that I'm just getting excited for Christmas!

What are you looking forward to over the next few months?

I'm taking a bit of a break from blogging now for a week or so but I'll be back in the middle of the month for some new posts! You can keep up to date on my Instagram if you want too.
