10 Of My Current Disney+ Picks

Last month DisneyPlus arrived and I think it's fair to say we've all gone a little bit mad for it. Pretty much everyone I know has become obsessed with it and I definitely have too, there's just so much! If you somehow haven't heard about DisneyPlus, well it's basically a new streaming service just like Netflix but obviously it's all Disney. Whilst I do love Disney, I was a little on the fence about subscribing just because at the time we already had Netflix, Amazon Prime and NowTV, not that we were using them all really so I didn't want to get it for the sake of it but we gave it a go and now I can't stop using it. Over the last few weeks I've been watching loads of films that take me back to being a teenager aswell as some of the brand new shows that have been made especially for DisneyPlus so I really wanted to share some of my recommendations. I've whittled it down to 10 of my current picks so I hope there's something for everyone.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

One of the first things I watched was the High School Musical films which I obviously recommend. They're so cheesy but I love them! I then had to start High School Musical: The Musical: The Series which has quickly become something I look forward to watching each week. It's an American mockumentary musical drama that follows a group of high school kids at the fictional East High School, who are taking part in the school's production of High School Musical: The Musical. Of course the students taking part all have their own relationships and dramas going on much like Troy and Gabriella in the films so it's all very familiar but just so good. A new episode is released every Friday so it's been something nice and lighthearted to watch each week.

Lady and the Tramp

This was one of the films I was most looking forward to and it didn't disappoint. Who doesn't love Lady and the Tramp? In this live action remake, a pampered spaniel and a tough but lovable stray go on an unexpected adventure and it's just absolutely adorable. It will make you smile, it might make you a bit emotional and if you have a pet yourself, I can guarantee it will make you want to go and give them a big cuddle afterwards. A must for any dog lovers.

Mary Poppins Returns

Actually the first film I watched on DisneyPlus because it's just become such a favourite of mine since it was first released. I just think it was made so well - the effects are brilliant, the casting is spot on and the music is beautiful. I have the songs stuck in my head for days after watching this, every single time. It's just a feel good film isn't it?

Freaky Friday

This is one of those films that takes me right back to being a teenager. I remember watching this so much when I was younger and to be honest I still love it just as much now. If you somehow haven't heard of Freaky Friday before, this was released in 2003 and it stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan as a mother and daughter who just aren't getting along at all. One night while out for dinner at a Chinese restaurant, a magical fortune cookie makes them switch bodies meaning they're forced to live each others lives. It's just really funny and it has Chad Michael Murray in it so if you weren't convinced before, you might be now.

Tangled

Ahh this film just makes me so happy. I don't feel it's ever had as much praise as films like Frozen but it totally deserves it! I think it's one of the best Disney have released and I always put it on when I'm in need of something that's going to cheer me up. Mandy Moore voices Rapunzel and she has the most gorgeous singing voice. Donna Murphy is brilliant as Mother Gothel aswell. 'When Will My Life Begin' and 'I See The Light' are some of the best songs from a Disney film too. I adore them.

The Lizzie McGuire Movie

First of all I'm so disappointed the Lizzie McGuire re-boot hasn't come to fruition. I'm not exactly sure what's happening with it but it doesn't seem to be going ahead with DisneyPlus anymore unfortunately so I just hope someone else picks it up. It would have been amazing to follow Lizzie's life now! Whilst I'm re-watching the original episodes now as they are available, the Lizzie McGuire movie is one of my all time faves. I remember so many of the lines and 'What Dreams Are Made Of' gets stuck in my head at least once a week. The film follows Lizzie and her friends in Italy as they celebrate graduation but while she's there she gets mistaken for an Italian pop diva which completely changes her trip. There's something weirdly comforting about it, I just love it.

The World According To Jeff Goldblum

I'm not going to lie, I haven't watched every episode of this yet but what I have seen so far has been great and I'm really looking forward to watching more. If you want something a little different to your throwback TV shows and the classic Disney films, well The World According To Jeff Goldblum is definitely that. In the 12 part series, each episode focuses on something people love, like trainers, tattoos or ice cream and Jeff basically explores more about them all. He chats with influencers and experts on each of these subjects and it's genuinely a fascinating watch. It's such a strange concept but it works.

Camp Rock

Another film I remember very clearly from my teenage years! If you want a cheesy musical film then the Camp Rock films are the perfect choice. Demi Lovato plays Mitchie, a girl desperate to spend her summer at a rock camp but the only way for her to do that is for her and her mother to work in the kitchen. Whilst there, a teen pop star Shane Gray (Joe Jonas) overhears her singing and he makes it his mission to find the girl behind the voice. I mean, it has the Jonas Brothers in, why wouldn't you want to watch it? Anyone else just loving them at the moment? I definitely prefer the first film to the second but both are available on DisneyPlus and there are some really catchy songs in them both.

Zootropolis

I ADORE ZOOTROPOLIS. I've watched this several times already and I'm tempted to put it on again whilst writing this. I only watched this for the first time last year but it's probably one my top Disney films now so I was obviously thrilled to see this when I subscribed. If you've not watched it before, I'd recommend adding it to the top of your list. Ginnifer Goodwin voices Judy Hopp, a bunny who is determined to make it as a police officer and she is just SO sweet. After years of training and finally in her dream job, she makes it her mission to uncover a criminal conspiracy involving the disappearance of predators but she may have to team up with red fox con artist to do so. Judy Hopps is just such a cool character, I want to be her.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe

I couldn't pick just one Marvel film so I thought I'd mention the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe which includes films like Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, Avengers:Endgame, Captain Marvel and many more. We're actually working our way through them all the moment after starting with Iron Man and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. It's something to look forward to each evening whilst there isn't much else at the moment! Some of the films are absolutely brilliant and even if you think they're not your thing, give them a try! So far I've really enjoyed the first Thor, Iron Man and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

So that wraps up my 10 Disney+ picks and I really hope it's given you a few ideas if you've been in need of something to watch whilst we're in this weird time at the moment! I was a little dubious at first and wondered if it was going to be worth the money but now I can 100% say it is, there are honestly hundreds of films, shows and documentaries so you're completely spoilt for choice. It's just fantastic.

Have you got Disney+? If so what have you been watching?

I adore Lady and Tramp, but I hated the live action remake; it doesn't come close to the original for me. Tangled is my favourite, and I definitely need to watch it again. Great post xx

I feel like this is the most unpopular opinion right now but I never really liked anything Disney as a kid and I feel like I'm missing out majorly now everyone is excited about Disney+. I did love Freaky Friday and The Lizzie McGuire Movie though. Maybe I should try Disney+ and maybe fall in love with everything I didn't watch as a kid x

My ex-husband and I had always managed to stay friendly after our divorce in February 2017. But I always wanted to get back together with him, All it took was a visit to this spell casters website last December, because my dream was to start a new year with my husband, and live happily with him.. This spell caster requested a specific love spell for me and my husband, and I accepted it. And this powerful spell caster began to work his magic. And 48 hours after this spell caster worked for me, my husband called me back for us to be together again, and he was remorseful for all his wrong deeds. My spell is working because guess what: My “husband” is back and we are making preparations on how to go to court and withdraw our divorce papers ASAP. This is nothing short of a miracle. Thank you Dr Emu for your powerful spells. Words are not enough. here is his Email: emutemple@gmail.com or call/text him on his WhatsApp +2347012841542

He is also able to cast spell like 1: Lottery 2: Conceive 3: Breakup 4: Divorce 5: Cure for all kinds of diseases and viruses.
