I didn't get round to doing a monthly favourites last month as I just had too many other posts I wanted to get out, so I've decided to kind of combine March and April together. I'm not gonna lie, a lot of it is films! For some reason we've been just getting through loads and loads each week so there were so many I wanted to include in this post!
York - I couldn't do a favourites post and not include our trip away. I'll keep it brief as I've already done a few posts about it but it really was such a beautiful place. Everything looked better than you'd imagine in real life and the minster was stunning! All of the shops were so cute and cosy and the tea rooms, omg the tea rooms were incredible. If you want to read more about our trip, I have a post here that goes into more detail.
I, Tonya - I'm so glad we finally managed to watch this! It's a biographical film about the figure skater Tonya Harding who becomes the first woman to complete a triple axel during a competition. Though things seem to be going well for her in the skating world, in 1994 things take a turn for the worse when her ex husband conspires to injure another Olympic hopeful, Nancy Kerrigan. Tonya's life gets tarnished as no one really knows whether she was also in on the attack or not, and it became one of the biggest scandals in sports history. I loved this film and seeing how the event apparently unfolded. Before watching this I was kind of convinced that she must have been in on it, just from what I read online, but after seeing the film, I'm now not so sure. The film shows that she went through a lot growing up and then in her adult life and she definitely didn't have it easy so I definitely felt sorry for her and it changed my opinion. I highly recommend watching this, it had me hooked and I definitely want to see it again at some point.
George Ezra, Staying At Tamara's - I am obsessed with this album at the moment! I've listened to quite a few of George Ezra's songs before and really liked them but this album is just brilliant. I can't stop playing it! I think it's going to be my favourite over the summer.
Paperchase - Well this is one of the cutest things I've bought in a long time. I actually saw this on the Pinterest website before Valentines but it was £8 and I just didn't think I needed to spend that on yet more trinket dishes. I was having a little browse recently though and I saw this had gone down to £4 so I couldn't resist. I think it's going to look so pretty on my desk in the office. When I got this I also picked up a few more postcards too which are such a bargain at 80p each.
Homemade Tiffin - I made this again recently for the first time in ages and now I just want to make it again. It's so simple and only requires setting in the fridge for a few hours so it's not a fussy thing to make at all. I love the combination of digestive biscuits, dark chocolate and golden syrup, it just makes the most delicious bake. I have a recipe here if you want to try it.
Paddington 2 - Finally I have this on DVD. I only got to see this in the cinema once (I planned on going at least twice, because Paddington is my ultimate favourite film) so it's felt ages waiting for this to come out. It arrived on the day it was released and I've watched it countless times since then. It's just the best. It combines my love for London and Bears, and the storyline is brilliant, just as good, if not better than the first. It makes me laugh and cry and it's just generally a really heartwarming film.
