What did I ever do without this recipe? I've been a big fan of Mary Berry and her bakes for a good few years now so I was thrilled when I got one of her recipe books for Christmas and one of the first recipes that stood out to me was the simple Chocolate Fork Biscuits. It's only 4 ingredients and takes hardly any time so I've made these countless times over the last few weeks! I've seen a few variations of this recipe online since but I wanted to share the original that I use, as if you love to bake, you need to make these. They're perfect to go with an afternoon cup of tea, so I've been treating myself to a few while I work!
Ingredients:
100g softened butter
50g caster sugar
120g self-raising flour
15g cocoa powder
Method:
1. Pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees and grease and line 2 baking trays (or 1 large one, whichever is easier for you)
2. Add the butter and sugar to a bowl and beat together until smooth
3. Add in the flour, and mix well, then add in the cocoa powder, stirring until it forms a dough. It's sometimes easier to use your hands once the cocoa powder has been added
4. Form the dough into balls, about the size of a walnut and place well apart on the trays
5. Dip a fork in warm water and use this to flatten the biscuits
6. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until browned then leave to cool
Have you got any other Mary Berry recipes you like to make?

How many does it make?
I followed the recipe and made 16. It worked well but your imaginary walnuts might vary.
Perfect and easy cookies
The ingredient missing here is milk, as in Mary Berry's recipe. Impossible to form a dough without it.
