I adore Barry M and I honestly don't even know how many of their nail polishes I have, but it is a lot. I always think a girl can never have too many though can she? So when I picked a few beauty bits up from Superdrug and Boots recently (haul here) I had to get some nail polish. I decided to go for 2 of the Coconut Infusion range from Barry M as I still hadn't got round to trying them and I was so intrigued to see if they were any different to other polishes I have.
The Coconut Infusion polishes have a new and innovative formulation which is supposed to hydrate and nourish your nails while also giving you a beautiful, smooth gel like manicure. I was really excited to see what my nails were like after using this and if the polish was really that different to any other. I got the shades Flamingo and Bikini, both I mentioned in my Spring Nail Picks and I think they are both so perfect for the warmer months.
Bikini
This was the one I used first. I think it's the perfect shade for Spring and Summer. It's a turquoise/mint colour and quite different for me as I tend to stick to either darker colours or pinks so this makes a really nice change. I did two coats of this and it lasted well over a week which I was so impressed with! I only had a little bit of chipping but to say I didn't use a top coat I don't think that is bad at all. This applied really well, I love the brush as it just fits my nails really well and I didn't find it was streaky at all. I don't really have anything bad to say about this one. I also found when I took this off, my nails did feel a bit softer than usual, normally my nails feel disgusting when I take nail polish off and I have to re-paint them straight away but with this, the coconut infusion part of it must have done something to make them feel nice!Flamingo
As I loved the Bikini Coconut Infusion, I was sure I was going to feel the same about the shade Flamingo, and I did to some extent but not as much as I thought. The colour is beautiful, it's quite a bright orange shade which I really like on my nails but I found when applying this it was so much more difficult than the other one. I just found it a bit streaky and I had to go over it a few times which was a bit annoying. I'm not sure why it was like that as the other one was perfect. I love the finished look and I'll definitely use it again, it was just applying it was a bit tricky for some reason. Again with this one I got over a week without chipping which really impressed me and that was without a top coat. I did feel my nails looked really glossy with both of these and felt super smooth which I really liked.
I do love both of these and regardless of whether 'Flamingo' was a bit harder to apply, I'll definitely be using both again, I'm sure I'll get a lot of wear out of them in Summer. I can't wait to pick more up from the range at some point aswell, they do some really gorgeous shades. I was a bit sceptical of whether the Coconut Infusion part would actually do anything but I do think it did, as I said my nails felt really soft and generally just nicer than they normally do. I don't know if these are supposed to help with nail growth either but I've actually found when I've had one of these on my nails have grown loads quite quickly so maybe it's had an effect on that too!
